Has anyone celebrated New Year's Eve at the campground? Does the resort do anything special? How crowded is it at the beach to watch the fireworks?

Not to rain on your vacation or anything, but I can't imagine ever spending Christmas or New Year's at Disney. We had friends go this past Christmas and New Year's and they were miserable with the crowds.

But if I were there, I too would want to stay at the Fort. But better make your ressies early.

I made our ressies already and got pretty much what I wanted. Don't plan to be in the parks on the 31st but it sounds like some resorts have a special party for their guests. Here's hoping that someone has some good ideas ...

Thanks.

We've never spent NYE at the Fort and out of the 5 or 6 NYEs we've spent at WDW it's either at MGM or our favorite watching the "DOUBLE FWs" from the Poly Beach area ... IMO our must do every 6 or 7 years.

We spent two New Year's at FW. The campground itself doesn't do anything special except a midnight hayride to watch the fireworks at (duh) midnight. It is well worth the money ($15.00/adult last year) and the fireworks are AWESOME!!! They are panoramic and I swear, they cover at least a mile of sky. I've never seen anything so spectacular!!

Of course, the beach is packed...but you need not worry if you do the hayride. You MUST get your tickets for the hayride first thing in the morning on the 31st, because they sell out quickly. Tickets are sold only at FW Kennel.:flower3:

Thanks for all the info. Looks like the hayride should be fun for all! Look forward to bringing in the new year at our favorite place! Glad to hear that other disboarders will be there too!
