:)

Happy Belated Birthday to Brittany!:cheer2:

Nan, I just checked my email...saw Molly...wow, thanks for sending it. I'm going to show Chad right now!

Well, Chad's Neon finally croaked, and we decided that we don't want to keep putting money into a 9 year old car that hasn't been behaving for the last year. So we went car shopping this evening, and decided on a 2007 Honda Civic LE Sedan. The price is right, and Mel swears by Honda's good name, so that's that. I'm paying the downpayment, and Chad will make the monthly payments. The plan is to have the car paid off in a year, with his income from working in a law office. He's put off his entrance to graduate school until the Spring Term to prepare for the GRE and to get some real work experience/make some money. I told him there goes my liposuction money, into buying him a car, so he better appreciate it!:rotfl:

He should have it next week, if all goes well. We're donating his Neon to the American Diabetes Association, in Father Casey's name. :goodvibes

So how are all my Mateys? Is Karen back yet from Spain?

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: You are too funny!!!

The civic should be a GREAT car - i really haven't had any problems with the Acura - so expecting it to last Ryan well into college ~ Hondas really last a LONG time ~ it's 8 y/o with 118,000 miles....hummm - that's a lot of trips to DL!! ;)

Chad nice wheels.... Honda as you know is our current family wheels too. An Odessey MiniVan (Topanga) is mine and a Ridgeline (Fandgo) is Paul's. They have names because they have a talking GPS in them. They really do feel like a person in a little box some time.

Topanga and I have driven to Dland a few times on my own. Virtually an unknown before I had GPS. It makes me feel safe....

Road trip, where ya going Chad?

Colleen - how was the Van's concert yesterday???? Are you exhausted??? Hope you have nothing planned but a relaxing weekend!!! Were you able to insert a hidden mickey into our logo....i think i see one!

Yes I am exhausted!

it was a very long, awesome day~ :sunny:

It was as hot as expected, thank goodness for the canopy (shade) and a good breeze...

we had a couple kids pass out or almost pass out that we helped. I bought 5 cases of water and am VERY happy I did. We sold some for $1 but for the most part I was handing it out to kids that mine and their friends know and the ones who seemed really over heated. They were all very grateful that I had it since the venue was charging $4 for a cup of water

by the end of the day kids were laying on the ground around our tent because it was shady~I didn't care, the only ones I made move were the ones that laid directly in front of our table.

I had "backstage" access to a skate comp and a really awesome band! I got tons of video and pictures. My son took my Nikon and got some up close band shots for me during the course of the day from some of the other stages. There were two stages right near us, the little one I got in on had the one band I was there to see. That's where I got my really up close shots of Revolution Mother. Pro skater Mike Vallely sings for them. The video camera has a great telephoto lense that enabled me to get good footage from about 100 yards away of the other stage. The video camera also has a fisheye lens which was perfect for the half-pipe pictures (it's a ramp shaped like a half circle.) I was able to keep the camera steady and still see the entire ramp. Mike V and a few other pro skaters (like Oliver Peck-he's married to Kat Von D and skates for Vans) came over and skated the half pipe towards the end of the day and I was able to get footage of them too!

My son and another girl Kelly came and worked with me all day. They were why I was able to leave the tent and go get the pics and footage~they did a great job!

We were there by 9 and left around 7.

As soon as we got home John was ready with some food and a movie. The boys had steak, I had a burger (I really like my burgers) and John and I watched Pans Labyrinth. John fell asleep about halfway thru it. It's a very deep, imaginative and somewhat violent movie-IMHO, it was good.

John and I also watched 300 this week. We split that one over two days...it is very violent and very graphic but IMHO VERY GOOD! The storyline is really well written and the special effects are amazing. I appreciate a good battle scene and this movie is chock full of them.

No. I haven't done the hidden Mickey, but I think I know what you are looking at...the tiny icons at the corners of the top of the skull?

My hidden mickey won't be as suttle. I wish Photoshop wasn't so difficult to use, our logos would be done by now :confused3

Congratulations Chad! I drive an old beat up Honda and it's probably one of the best cars I've ever had. For as little as it is it hold quite alot! I move stuff for the stores in it all the time. The other upside is the smallness makes it rediculously cheap on gas. John has been driving my explorer and except for when I need the larger capacity of it I really don't miss driving it and putting $100 worth of gas in it every week~

Mom called last night, she made it to Santee SC and called it a night. She should be in Orlando by early afternoon, checking into the Pop and enjoying her first day back in Disney~

Happy Saturday Magic Mateys!

and hello to all my fellow cruisers~

WOW!! $4 - that IS outrageous! Glad you bought that water too & sure there are MANY grateful kids!!!

What i thought was a hidden Mickey is to the right of the skull - near the indentation of the nose/mouth - a darker area that looks like an upside down Mickey~

Glad you had a good time & that John had dinner ready! How nice was that!!!!! Ryan asked me to pick up 300 for him...haven't done it yet...but will today before he gets home....or let him run out & pick it up himself depending on who gets home first....i'm at work - they're on their way back from camping trip. Should be a quiet Sat night & sunday then we have a BD celebration for our niece in San Jose tomorrow evening~

That's Cool~

I had been to that concert before, it's an annual tour. I know from firsthand experience it's HOT...my nephew passed out last year :( and I've been to it, two years ago.

I have the sense to dress for it, these kids don't think before they dress. They wear long pants, black tshirts and drink caffiene beverages all day. They have no idea that water is a necessity until they are dehydrated, overheated and passing out. It's a sad fact.

The ones I gave water to usually got a speech with it telling them what the first paramedic that had to come to my tent said. Drink a bottle and hour, get a cold cloth on the back of your neck, yadda yadda yadda. One girl was all flush in her face and laying on her boyfriend's lap just really looking parched. I threw a bottle at her and all four (there were two more with them) guzzled it down thanking me for it like I had just thrown them money. As someone who knows these kids are like this, I felt it's my job to help~

I'm supposed to be doing laundry today, John and me are going to the beach tomorrow  :beach:

we have a BD celebration for our niece in San Jose tomorrow evening~

Brenda: What part of the city are you coming to?

We really need to find some reason to get together ya know. Maybe just a dinner or a movie? (okay we'd talk too much during a movie huh?) I know let me know when your next crop is, perhaps I can come down with a girl friend? Do you have my email?

Molly is on her last night of Guys & Dolls. She is playing a New Yorker....so of course Paul says this morning "I want to go to NY" ok...see I'm not the only one who is the traveling fool in this family. I did warn you that we'd create that NY trip out of thin air right :cool1: :rotfl2: Perhaps I'll surf some travel sites today and see if we can find a cheapie package. Summer is somewhat less expensive, isn't it?

Hola everyone!

I'm back after a fab vacation in beautiful Southern Spain where I completely over-indulged on paella and sangria - believe me, I'm sooo not looking forward to stepping on those scales tomorrow! :scared1: Ah well, totally worth it tho'... ;)

As for my Magic Mateys, I have missed you guys - hope you're all healthy and happy. :grouphug: Will catch up properly tomorrow - just couldn't wait to say "hi"... :goodvibes

Hi guys,
Back from the most crowded, errrr, happiest place on earth. What a zoo. Piper loved it! She's bored now that she's home. Was worried about the long car ride, but she did great.
