Hi every one

Aisling changing her mind:rotfl2:

I love the romantic way the diamond ring was done:love:

Welcome Valerie & family:cool1:

The new picture is from Wildwood at the American Legion Convention - I was in the parade.

Jill, wow, how cool is that! I see a man in the background saluting; I can imagine people clapping and cheering as you all went by. :thumbsup2

Now I have a question: did you drive your trike down to Wildwood, or was it transported by truck or something? I'm asking because, even though it's more balanced than a bike, it makes me nervous just thinking of driving that baby on the highway!

Hi Aisling

The man saluting was in uniform & everytime a flag went by he is suppossed to salute. :thumbsup2

It was really cool to have people applauding & cheering.

Now, what was really cool was when people saw there was a woman with the group of bikers I was with they waved even more. I heard a lot of "you go girl" Believe me I waved a lot to them.:wave2:

I drove down. It was about a 98 mile trip. That baby handles really well.:moped:

Jill

Hi everyone! :wave2: Hope you're all doing well and life is good. I'm fine, if a little over-excited and just had to share my news...

My DH came home late on Monday night (dinner with Big Boss over from the NYC) and, as we were sipping our late night hot drinks (you gotta love this new alcohol-free lifestyle), he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him again! I, of course, said "Silly, you know I will! We've got the vow renewal in September!" Then he went and slipped a new beautiful diamond engagement ring on my finger which he'd had made unbeknown to me!!!! I don't think there's a smilie anywhere to show how astounded and overcome I was...

Two days later and I'm still in shock...

Good Shock I'd say!!!! Love that romantic story.

I am new to this, but my family just booked a cruise over new years!!! I am so excited!! I cant wait to meet all of you!!!:goodvibes

welcome to the gang of new year's eve cruisers....where are you guys from?

Hey we need to come up with some logos and names for us, dontcha think?

Ok, I've already changed my mind about the dress. I think it would be more suitable for Palo instead of formal night, unless we do formal night at Palo! Hmmm, only a year and a half to decide, whateva will I do. Anyone think I need to get a life?:lmao:

or perhaps you need to get another vacation plan before this one :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: ok get a life huh?

You look so cool on that bike. You rock baby, as Molly would say....:woohoo:

I'm on it!

HELLO ALL, YES; WE ARE FINALLY BOOKED. We have been tossing this around for months and finally made the decision to book. We were concerned that the kids and grandkids would be upset that we would be leaving the day after Christmas, but they all said go for it. We will have another NJ couple with us (Drew & Colleen) who also booked the same day, to obtain staterooms next to each other . We are very anxious and just love cruising, Disney style. The picture is at Old Key West, having breakfast waiting for the Cruise bus.

Aisling - love the gold dress - but yep so much time to shop....i haven't worn a floor length gown for a LONG time....i have a beaded one that i've never worn...YIKES - i should get it out and see if it fits...that might be nice - but HEAVY....hummmm wonder if it would put my luggage over the weight limit! I'm pretty short myself - only 5'1" - with my DS at 6'1"

Welcome to our new cruisers....

Karen - HOW VERY COOL is your DH!! that is so awesome - so romantic!!!!

Jill - LOVE your new photo!!!

I think that sounds worse than 18 months.....i just want to see that ticker in my signature change once in awhile:rotfl: !!!

Good Morning All,

:welcome: to all of our new cruisers.

Jill, you look like one Tough Mama on that bike. "You Go Girl"

Nan, have a great time in China. My Dad and his better 1/2 are going in the fall and got a great deal through the Chamber of Commerce. It is $1,500 per person for 10 days and that includes airfare, hotel, most meals & tours. It's so funny, he and one of his friends were going and then my Aunt wanted to go so that made it OK for Jeanne (his better 1/2 to go). The guys will be sharing a room and the girls will be sharing another room. My Dad is very independent and travels by himself most of the time. He spends 6 weeks in London every November and goes to the theater.

For "kicks & giggles," :rotfl2: I called AAA to have them check and see how much it would cost to go on the repositioning 8/17/08 cruise and it is completly sold out. WOW!

Things are better on the home front and I'm back in cruise mode. I'm with everybody else, 18 months is a long time off. Jeff and I will be going to Disneyworld for our anniversary in February and I need to find a way to get to Disneyland before that!

Aisling, I'm sending you a big hug  you always make me smile and I can't wait to meet you.

Welcome Jerseyites. That will be 2 Colleens from Jersey. Are you "down the shore" SJ or "exit 3" SJ?

While we were in the parade we didn't have to wear the helmets. That's probably the only time in Jersey I havn't worn one.

It is a lovely dress and would be fab for Palo's! :thumbsup2 But why not sleep on it for a few months...

Jill - wicked photo and awesome bike!!! :cool2:

Thanks so much for the Welcome. We are so excited and so glad to be a part of this cruise.

tigg: thanks but nope can't use it.

we are busy with end of school year, we are moving molly to a new school in the fall. not bilingual, but she is allready fully bilingual & billertirate, so we will hope for the best and tell her she has to use her Spanish every day anyways.
We have a new principal at our school and she stinks. We have lost 8 teachers and 2 staff so far this year, many of them leaving as a direct result of the principal being unbearable to work with. Paul sits on the governing council and is working hand in hand with our board superintendent to resolve the situtation (remove the principal) it's be a long year to say the least....we are having Wilson return next year (we are die hard bi-ligual education advocates) and we really want him to get to the level of efficency which is at least thru 3 grade.

so, I haven't been around much, sorry.

couple that with the trip and trying to get work stuff in place to travel for 3 weeks....not much time left in the day.

So, I'll pop in as I can before we leave (reading for sure) and will hopefully post a hello from HK Disney ~ 4th of July.

LYMI,

Nan

Sounds a difficult situation, Nan. A principal can definitely make/break a school. I also agree with you about the benefits of a bilingual education. My kids were educated bilingually (French/English) and I'm an advocate too. :thumbsup2 I don't know what it's like in the US but, right now in the UK, it seems more important than ever that kids get the right education. It's a competitive world out there - more so than my youth I'm sure! I just worry that they don't get enough time to be kids... :sad2:

Time to get off my soap-box, I think... ;)

My fellow NYE cruisers, I don't mean to crow (OK maybe I do!) but I'm doing the Double Digit Dance today as it's a mere...

We consider ourselves down the shore, too close to use GSP, or ACExp, about 20 miles west of Ocean City NJ, in Cumberland County.

checking out the pictures from the last cruise bring back many memories......

Beautifully Happy Memories Cal!

Send a welcome to your co-cruisers for us too please~

I am the other Colleen of which my Mother speaks. We are Burlington County, right along the Delaware River in what I call central Jersey.

My friend Rose is *constantly* trying to get me to cruise other cruise lines, she has never cruised Disney and I am afraid just doesn't get it. She swears Disney is no different from the others...I refuse to cruise any ship other than Disney. If I have to force my husband onto the ship (which I do-he's got a severe fear of getting seasick cause he gets sick on fishing boats) I am going to make it worth all our while and force him onto a Disney ship!

My first cruise was with my Mom and DD and Rose's DD in 05, on the 7 day Eastern. We met alot of the folks posting here on that cruise. We have also met alot of new folks here on this thread that all seem just as awesome as the first set. I look forward to spending New Years with all of you~

Happy Friday Fellow Cruisers!
