That is an awesome achievement Brenda!

We've got nothing planned for today, we are headed to a wolf preserve tomorrow. John bought me the "experience" from Excitations.com last Christmas and we are finally going~it's a 2hour drive and we have to be there for 10am. I'm hoping to get some cool pictures from it.

This is from the event reminder they sent me:

It's the call of the wild! Witness the company of wolves with an exciting excursion to the only wolf and wildlife preserve on the East coast. Learn from the people who raise and care for the wolves about the animals’ evolution and history, their behavior and sociology, how they interact with humans, and more. Safely look on from the observation area as these amazing animals play, interact, and maybe even howl!

Begin with a scenic walk or bus ride to the Preserve where you'll first meet foxes and bobcats
Enjoy an informal discussion with an animal expert who will share insights and answer questions
Observe four different packs of wolves and witness first hand how they live and play
Take home a commemorative 5x7 wolf photo

Hi All

Trip was great, thanks for asking. It was CROWDED :crowded: (of course). Crowded is totally different when it's 2 adults VS a group of 7 with 2 scooters and a stroller :moped: :moped: :drive: .

Went on EE 3 times in a row on 2 different occaisions with my nephew. That ride is amazing.

Aisling - so sorry - I was all ready to take pictures of Gary for you (we were in just about the front row and everything), BUT I DROPPED AND BROKE MY CAMERA a couple of hours before showtime. Luckily I didn't have any of my good glass on it. I'm still pretty bummed about it. I'll have to send it in to Canon and see if it's worth repairing.

Piper really enjoyed herself. She actually remembered some things from our Disneyland trip when she was 10 months. When we sat down in Dumbo this trip, she smiled and started saying 'blow'. She remembered the wind in her face from last time -which she loves.

Her favorite part was definately the pool. She loved to play in the sand at Stormalong Bay. It was HOT, so we went swiming a few times.

She LOVED Mickey and Minnie

and hated Santa Clause

I was really woried my in-laws wouldn't have a good time. Mostly my FIL, 'cause he's the outdoorsy type. They seemed to have a good time in spite of the crowds.

We did the dining plan this time for the first time. It was convenient, and we saved money (kind of - hard to say you saved money on food you wouldn't have ordered without the plan), but it's pretty much ruined the dining experience. OK, not ruined, but it's not a change for the better. The menus are now all the same (in that they all have a few appetizers, a few entrees, a few desserts, all on one page. All the desserts are pretty much the same - you have some kind of apple dessert, a chocolate cake, and creme brulee - at EVERY RESTAURANT). The entrees at the restaurants are different, but familiar (how many different ways are there to prepare a steak?). The experience is rushed, yet there was only one time where we didn't have to wait 30 minutes or more for our AR. Food quality was good though. Favorite meal this trip would have to be Spoodles. Least favorite would be the Yachtsman Steakhouse, where I had glass in my Creme Brulee, actually chewed on it for a while thinking it was carmelized sugar, and cut up the roof of my mouth. We ate at Ragland Road for the first time, which we really liked. Of course, that could have been the Boddington's and Guinness speaking...

With the removal of the appetizer and tip in 2008, hopefully people will stop using the plan and things will go back to normal (fat chance).

Anyway - we DID have a good time, and we're looking forward to May with my parents, where we'll be staying in a 2-bedroom at the AKV.

Hope everyone had a Happy Chrismas, and a Wonderful New Year!

I know I should do that too but so often I just chicken out of carrying a lot of stuff. You really need one with all the twinkly Christmas lights tho'... :santa:

I clicked!!! :goodvibes :surfweb: :thumbsup2 Beautiful photos, Tigg!

ok got it to work this time. long load time. Nice shots, those little faces made me sad to see the wire fence.

Grim, so sorry about your camera! I hope you can have it fixed with no complications. Thanks for thinking of me when you saw Gary:love: .
And you chewed on glass! Yikes!

Piper is adorable, as usual. Funny how she reacted to Santa. I remember my kids screaming on Santa's lap! But she loved Mickey and Minnie, proof that you're raising her well!

Tig, wolves scare me, but they sure are beautiful.
