We have reservations at Portofino from Dec. 29-Jan 2nd this year. I am excited to try Universal since we have already done Disney 3 times for New Years. I just had a few questions: Should we have dining reservations for the whole time we are there or just go day by day? How are the parks and do they do fireworks and things like they do at Disney or is this done only at Citywalk? One last question, Do they parks open early and stay open late on New Years Eve and if we went back to the room are we going to be able to get back into the parks or do they close them due to capacity?

Thanks in advance!

I had same question a few months ago and someone said that the parks stay open until 1. And because of the construction with HP, it'll probably be like July 4th w/o them--360 instead.

And look for us we will be at PBH same time--probably with a WVU flag flying somewhere.

I would definitely make dinner reservations in advance. We were there for the 4th of July weekend. Margaritaville had a 1 1/2 hour wait then, I can imagine what it would be on New Years Eve. (we had ressies, so got in, in 15 minutes. :cool1: ) You can make reservations at Margaritaville (if that's one of the places you want to go) only 30 days in advance.

Does it make a difference to the wait times if you are staying onsite? Thanks :thumbsup2
