We're thnking about planning a trip for NYE either to WDW in FL or DL in CA. We've been to WDW several times, and DL only once. What is it like? Weather? Crowds? Thanks for the input!

We have done NYE at DL 4 out of the past 5 years. One of the times was when I proposed to my now DW. The weather is usually good (probably considered great compared to the majority of the country), except this past 2005 New Years when it rained. It rained hard only in the AM, this kept alot of the previous years crowds away. But it turned into a beautiful NYE night. If you want to avoid crowds, i would suggest extending you vacation a couple days into the New Year, even crowds on Jan 1st are not that bad. So by the 2nd or 3rd they have dissipated. Except next year(2006) the Rose Parade will be on the 2nd so many of the people attending the parade may go to DL on the 1st.

We have celebrated New Years Eve in DL for the past two years. It is very cold at night, so we layered alot, and brought hats and gloves. The daytime weather in 2003 was wonderful, with the night very cold. A wonderful but crowded time. In 2004 we had rain half of New Year's Eve day, but it resulted in a much less crowded park but the weather wasn't too cold and it was dry and clear that night. We had a wonderful time! The energy is fantastic!

I went this past NYE for the first time and it wa so much fun! It was crowded, but not as bad as I thought. I will probably go again next year!
