Hi,

Ive been to Disney 5 times now but never for the christmas season :santa: so was thinking about going in early Dec, after chatting to some friends we thought how about going for new year, now we would want to stay on sight as we have children with us, we are going to look into DIY or booking as a package, so the questions i have :lmao:

When do Disney release Dec 09 prices?
How busy are the parks?
Ive been in March so i no its going to be very cold!!
Does anyone no of any good tour operators that do any good deals for that time of year?

Thats all for now....:dance3:

Thanks in Advance

We were there New Year just past and had such a fantastic time that we are planning to return for this year's New Years celebrations (flights booked, just waiting for Disney to take bookings :cool1: ).

In response to your questions, my answers are:

1. When do Disney release Dec 09 prices? Last year it was the end of May when they released their Christmas prices.

2. How busy are the parks? Absolutely chocker block but by staying on site you can take advantage of EMH and then have a late breakfast.

3. Ive been in March so i no its going to be very cold!! You better believe it. Day time temperatures didn't get much above freezing, but it was a humid cold whihc means it feels worse than it is!

4. Does anyone no of any good tour operators that do any good deals for that time of year? I'll have to pass on that one. We organised our own trip booking the hotel direct with Disney and flights ourselves.

Ok maybe I can help here...

1. It's freezing - you will need an awful lot of clothes and gloves etc, the waiting around is just horrendous in the cold.

2. The crowds are the biggest you'll see in the parks. I was there this past NYE and I wouldn't go again. There is alcohol issued before the new year and the majority of the crowd around us were drunk. I had a daughter in a pushchair and couldn't move, had someone push me in the ribs which left me with bruising and someone also fell on my pushchair - with my daughter inside.

3. If you intend on seeing the fireworks/fantillusion parade then be prepared to get a good place very early, and not move until after midnight!

But it was very pretty. We had real snow but it became a pain in the bottom.

To be honest, after experiencing this at Disney, I was appalled to say the least. The magic was ruined as even my Dad got upset and cried. It was a surprise for the family as he'd been ill and we all spent the next day so drained that we just went home :-(

But Dad felt so cheated that we are returning in July for 5 days, onsite and we plan on having a proper Disney experience!!

It may be Disney but i wouldn't recommend taking kids on that day!!
