Welcome back to another exciting installment of Yavn Speaks - hard to believe we're already halfway through our Halloween Celebration!

Hey, what do you think about that Jafar hat? Haven't seen it? Well check out the Emporium! Plus, you're also able to buy the new Halloween Candy Dispenser in the Emporium.

We've got more treats coming before the end of the month (like one more Mystery Item - and if you thought the Jafar hat was cool, just wait until you see this!) while we'll wrap up the Halloween Celebration with a Halloween Maze Event! The event will start upon game opening Monday, October 30 and run until game closing on October 31st - Halloween!

Every player that makes it through the maze wins this new Halloween pin.

Halloween Quest in the Park!

You have just 2 weeks left to check out the brand new Disneyland Resort Halloween Quest. I'm not sure if you've seen Haunted Mansion Holiday, but it's pretty awesome to see how much different the mansion looks with it's holiday overlay - it's an entirely new attraction.

Ok, so we are still getting questions about Mules... First, let me give you my definition of a Mule. A Mule is a character that is created to help collect credits or items and then abandoned. A character that is played with on a regular basis is not a Mule. If you have a character or two that you play with - don't worry we don't consider these Mules.

If you are a player that has many Mules you may see these characters deleted from the game, and once deleted you will not be able to get the character or any credits or items back. Going forward if we see players creating an unusual number of accounts we will ban the new accounts and any other accounts associated with that player. Remember: Accounts you regularly use and play with are not Mules!

What's Next for VMK?

What's next? I've asked Push to mix it up a bit so expect a revised Push Trash Trivia over the next few weeks. Also with the holidays just around the corner we have lots of very cool things planned - next week I'll tell you about an awesome event we'll be kicking off in November as well as giving you a preview of what's around the corner. Now to get Jake and Haley to stop making popping noises every time they speak!

It's nice to hear about the mules too. All of my "side" accounts are either for a person or storage. None are abandoned, and I don't think I have an "unusual amount" of them. I honestly wouldn't care if my peacefuIly variations were banned as long as the titles couldn't be taken again, since I created them to prevent people from pretending to be me.

I too am pleased with the clarification on Mules... all my "extra characters" have all the quests done (Hidden Mickey, Dive, Space Suit, Blue Car), not just one time use characters. I just like doing the quests over again, he he! So yay! they are approved by Yavn.
I totally love how he referenced the - Pop! - sounds by Haley and Jake. Too funny.

anyone else think that they should be a little more creative with their pins? I mean we already have two pumpkin pins already, one of which has the same exact picture as the new pin.. plus we have the old mickey ear pumpkins and the new mickey pumpkins.. you think maybe they're short for ideas.. i'm getting kinda bored with pumpkins with mickey ears slapped on them..

I like the popping noise, it's the Haley/Jake kids I find annoying.

I also like the abundance of pumpkin items including the '06 Pin. I think it's sharp looking and very fitting... Pumpkins/Jack-o-lanterns being a staple of Halloween items like Christmas Trees or Stockings are to Christmas... Then again, wasn't the original Jack-o-lantern like a radish, turnip or beet or some other kind reddish-purple root plant thing (too lazy to Google)?

Ah, can't wait for the VMK Halloween Turnip pin! Woot! I can see the purple Mickey Ears on it now... Of course they'll label it "Pink" or maybe "Magenta".

Halloween weekend last year was a really bad memory. I wish to wash that
memory out of my head this year. Here's hoping this year's event is
nothing like last year's!

And yes, I guess the popping noises are getting to Yavn, too.

Halloween weekend last year was a really bad memory. I wish to wash that
memory out of my head this year. Here's hoping this year's event is
nothing like last year's!

Though I wasn't a member of VMK last Halloween, I've heard the horror stories, and I'm sure Yavn has something much better in mind this year. He's too smart to make the same mistake twice. Also, he probably read on here how many people complained about the popping noises Haley and Jake make.

The thing that really caught my eye is the revised Push's Trash Trivia. Maybe the questions will be harder, but anyone who gets it right will win the pin. I hope so because that's one of the few pins I still need for my collection!

Well I hope they do not delete my holiday characters and the DisPrizeFairy and the DisPrizePixie while they are not played often anymore I do love and do play them for their perspective Holidays and hope Yavn and staff are a little understanding of this. The Prize Mules may not be played often but they are this boards storers of the goods and they do games and deliver prizes.

Please be understanding of our friends.

I guess this means we need to open the barns and get our favorite "secondary characters" out to play alittle more often. Now where did I put that list.

Well, from what I heard, there were 3 different mazes (this year it sounds like there will only be one), one easy, one medium, and one difficult, each with different prizes, and the lines for each one were so long that people were waiting for hours to get into them and people were getting disconnected left and right (this was before the 50 person queue, I believe).

EDIT: Of course, now that I think about it, with DC gone, theoretically it could be run the same way and everything would work out okay. Guess we'll see how it goes. At least it's running for two straight days.

queues for the rooms were past the 650 people+ mark. The prizes were:

Easy = 100 Credits
Medium = Master Gracy Pin (that ended up going on sal anyway)
Hard = Candy Cauldron

I know! That was excruciating! I'm certain that Yavn and staff have learned their lessons from that disaster.

Now. If they do several rooms of the maze like they do with the ride a thons, it would be great. And they don't even have to do it where you get a prize each time. They could do it like the did with the purple hero suits. One prize per person, per day. Just make it tradable!

This was my thought too. I have a couple of holiday characters that are hardly ever played. But, of course I want to keep them.

Hopefully, they don't delete those characters that have "gift" in their names or have some holiday themed name.

All my peeps play fairly regularly... I do NPC and play a few games of pirates on them at least once or twice a week...

What I am hoping they do is look at the characters that have not been logged in on in MONTHS... the truely "abandonded" peeps....

The event will start upon game opening Monday, October 30 and run until game closing on October 31st - Halloween!

Now.. I know this is silly... but he isnt inferring the VMK will be open Continuously from The 30th until closing on the 31st is he??? nah... couldnt be...


Oh and just to make sure I know what a Maze event is... Is it a room full of doors and one leads you to another room and if you pick the right door again you go to another room kind of a thing... or are there clues that help you figure out which is the right door??? I know AmyE runs a Maze... is it like that one???

You know I've frequently said that the best thing about hurricane rita was it protected me from the halloween maze event- lol

About mules- I have a few I play regulary- and then I have a few holiday mules like others do- and I'd like those to stay without having to open the barn so often- lately I barely seem to have time to play my main that often. But I do wish they'd go ahead and let us kill off a few mules- sure I know I can close accounts but I want the mules I don't want that got created a year ago- just so I could get costumes and things to be humanely put out of their desolation and misery- and permit their names to be used by new players

Perhaps they could allow some of us former mulers to turn in names of accounts we'd like deleted...

About the new maze event- I'm sure it will run like the ride-a-thons and other events like it with multiple instances- of course I imagine some teleporter glitches but doubt it will be too bad.

Isn't anyone else excited about the event starting during the day on a school day? Woot!! I mean..I am very sorry for those who will be stuck at work, but I feel like they just called for all kids out of the pool, adult only swim!

The comment about the popping.. very funny. Since Yavn is so familiar with Tron, I will go out on a limb and say he must also remember Pop-Up Video as we all talked about in a previous thread. I think he's just messing with us now. I've gotten used to the pop I think. What I really want to know is where does Haley Shoe Shop?

I read "Halloween Maze Event", yelled it across to inform my sister of it, and we both shared the "pulling-hair-out-of-head" growl!

While vague in my memory, I do remember 600+ queues and 5 minute dc times and oh how the list continues! heh.

However, I must add that vmk is not as primitive as it was last year and I am staying optimistic about this year. Perhaps they've improved the event and learned from their mistakes... (maybe THAT was a far stretch, but let's at least hope they've improved! lol )

You know, sometimes I wish my speech "popped"... heh.

ETA: Hey, I learned some very vital information from Pop-Up video! heh...forget the Discovery channel or the History channel...MTV's Pop-Up Video WAS the educational channel! lol.

I think most of the disconnecting started with the Maze Event...

I remember waiting behind 600+ people, getting into the room, and getting the DC window! Then, I remember making it into the maze, but getting stuck in a queue when I entered a teleporter, and got stuck at the door....

And remember, they blamed all the problems with the mazes on ghosts in VMK, ROFL!!!

I have NO idea how I got the candy cauldron last year... it's just all a big blurr....

I have hope for this year's maze though. I think they have learned their lesson...

The mules I have holding my ton-o-pins and extra costumes I have tried in the past to get them out at least once a week and since the "yavn's mule rant" have tried to get them out for 2-3 minutes every other day now. I have a couple of Christmas names and 1 halloween name from last year I didn't want to lose.
