***New Yavn Speaks BIG CHANGES IN LINES and Q!!!!!

I really don't know how I feel about this.
It will be nice to be able to be in queues, but just because you are in the queue doesn't mean you are getting in.

I don't think this will change the fact that the easiest way to get in a room is the search-at-opening routine. Aside from that, it seems like out luck will be the same. Just like it is lucky to actually get IN line now, it will be lucky to get in the room.

But I don't know for sure. We'll see....

im thinking the limit should still be there, but at like 400 ppl!

I guess that would be the best time to be entering codes.
You know, you're absolutely right. I never even thought about that and this makes me even more excited about this new idea. I have over 300 pirates codes that I haven't put in yet because I get them at work but I can't play VMK at work. So that's a perfect opportunity!

Im on the against list.

I remember the days of unlimited lines like many here do not. It was a joke, an absolute joke to wait behind 600+ people for EVERY game it would literally take hours to get in. hula's yard sale is a prime example of the kind of garbage that happened. with a queue of 50 it still took over an hour to get in, can you imagine it with a queue of 600? - if 50 takes an hour, 600 will take 12 hours - 12 hours - are you going to actually be able to stay on VMK for 12 hours waiting to get into the host room? if they start the game at 5:30PST, you would be at number 350 when VMK closed for the night. This does not increase the chances of getting in, it DECREASES them. You are now LESS LIKELY to be able to get into the host room. Mulers/multis will rule the day again because of this. You will have maybe 100 legitimate players in line and then 500 multis and some will do it just out of spite, load up a 2nd pc with 4 accounts and dump them in line - if 10 do that, you are already at 40 dummy line holders... all I can think of is "Halloween Maze Disaster"

You have a point, but I'm sure the hosts and Yavn will come up with a way to speed up the lines. They started doing some things to move lines along right after DC was fixed, and I'm sure there will be ways to improve on that further.

You know, a lot of people talk about this strategy, but in my personal experience, I have not done that even once and I've still managed to get into over 75% of the host rooms I've attempted to get into in under an hour.

But won't the extra time it takes waiting in line (which you won't even have to do anymore) be worth it to KNOW you're going to get into the room and not have to fight to just get in line so you can have a chance at getting something. Like Hula's Yard Sale, for example, it was impossible to get in line for. This will make no game hard to get in line for :teeth:
Yeah, now it'll just be impossible to get into the room before it closes.

Well, I don't know if they'll change the rules or not when they implement the new queue systems, but as it stands right now, if you're in the queue, you're allowed in the room even if it's past closing time. I have a feeling they might make it so that host rooms are only open for an hour, or maybe even a half hour, just because so many people will get in line for it while it's open.

I predict queue limits will return within one month of this being released.

seriously, when the host games start, the number of people on VMK jumps by about 1000, we are seriously going to be looking at 1000+ queues and the only rooms most people will actually get into are going to be the teleporter ones and then you loose, and have to wait another 45 minutes to get back in instead of 5 or 6 minutes. This is going to be a complete disaster for host games.

I wonder if I'll still get disconnected in slower host lines, like I always do now.. ? If I don't, I'm SOOO EXCITED!!!! I do agree though Doc..they do need to put some kind of cap on it.

I just noticed something!
VMK Pass. FastPass....

VMK Ticket. Park Ticket? Railroad ticket?
I hope it's railroad ticket. I can't wait for the disneyland railroad.

Oh darn. What were they all again?

Well, I honestly would just rather buy just everything in the shops.

But given that we have to have staff games, I really wish they would open 2-3 rooms for the same game so people can get in and play. I'm really dreading unlimited lines with only one room open.

Ok, let's see how well this information was encoded into my LTM.

==================

New Orleans Square
Critter Country

I know those for sure... I don't remember what the last one was... Bug's Life?

This will be a great change for me. I currently try forever to get a character in line for a host room and once I'm in, I play a different character in another window. Now I will be able to put a character in line and start playing the other character right away. :thumbsup2

I have no doubt there will be problems with long lines. The developers will probably tweak the VMK pass feature once they try it out and discover the various problems.

As for things to do while you are in line, I like the entering codes idea! It would also be a great time for designing rooms, visiting the NPCs, shopping, visiting with friends, checking out rooms on the popular list and stuff like that. I also noticed it doesn't say anything about your pass being cancelled if you play a quest so that may be an option too. Granted you wouldn't be able to do any quests with mini-games but maybe people will create quests for us to do while we are waiting in line? Anyway, I can think of tons of administrivia types of things I could do while waiting in line. Cleaning up my store rooms would be a good start!

I think this will be a great benefit to the DIS players who like to be together at closing. You can get in line for the primary closing gathering but hang out in a different room while you wait for a spot to open up. I hate getting stuck in a line at closing time! At least I will be able to close with someone when the pass is available!

For me, the positives of the VMK pass seem to outweigh the negatives in a major way.

My husband's game allows him to get in a queue and then proceed with other activites. I constantly comment that it would just be nice to be able to visit with friends or enter codes while in line.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!

the toontown room is the baseball room thats what they mean by dimond I bet

:cool1: I don't care if I'm 5000th in line if it stops from me having to peck like a chicken on my lap top (no mouse) to try to get into host games :cool1:

The Baseball and football rooms are from Disney's Wide World of Sports complex, not toontown.

I think this is great. I can visit with friends and see other rooms while waiting in line. Much better than getting carpal tunnel from all the clicking and seeing sorry this room is to long try again. And now that the DC monster is hardly a problem waiting an hour to get is ok. Because I am not lost in Virtual space unable to talk or doing anything on VMK.

I think this is wonderful. And if you noticed now with the quest we do you end up getting lots of host gifts anyways.

Thanks VMK what a great idea :)

My question is... will we have to move every 5 minutes so we dont get the "if you dont move we are going to dc you message"

I can totaly see jumping in line and doing laundry... jumping in line and cooking dinner.... that sort of thing....

Like so many things on VMK time will tell..........................
