New WDW Waterpark??

I saw in another thread that someone mentioned WDW was opening a new waterpark as part of the 50th anniversary celebration.

Does anyone have any information on this? When its scheduled to open, where it will be and what the theme is? I hadn't heard of this previously.

I don't believe its a new park typhoon lagoon was closed to add new rides. they are putting in master blaster water slides that propel you up hills and turns.

I see you typically stay at Fort Wilderness... Typhoon Lagoon is close to Fort Wilderness, so if it does re-open, you might want to check it out. It's a real "lagoon" (real lake/pond water -- at least, it used to be!).

Actually it's River country that was close to Fort Wilderness that used water from the lake. That has been closed for a few years now and just a couple of weeks ago it was offically announced that it will not be reopening. The cost to Disney to try and clean that water was just too much.

Typhoon Lagoon Is Down Near Dtd And It Is The Best Of The Two Water Parks Imho. My Daughter Loves It. The New Rides Should Be Open In March If I Remember Correctly.

No, no for the umpteenth time no! RC had its' own water supply that was treated with bromine and filtered through the rocks (they hid the filters) that were in the swim area. RC has a spillway into bay Lake; it was not fed by Bay Lake.
