We checked into Y & BC on Saturday around 1:30 p.m. Got room keys and headed upstairs. Opened the door and............. drum roll, please..............it was filled with someone else's stuff !!! Junk everywhere, opened suitcases, toiletries on the sink, clothes in the closet, beds slept in. We jumped back and slammed the door shut and headed back to the front desk. They were mortified. Apparently, there are some inconsiderate idiots who don't check out on their final day and just leave their stuff in the room. However, the staff is supposed to notify them that the room isn't empty and the computer is supposed to show that they failed to check out. She could not explain why they were unaware that the people hadn't left and couldn't stop apologizing. She moved us to a gorgeous Epcot-view room with a balcony. So I guess it was worth the 15 second shock when we opened that door! :p

I would definitely trade for that 15 seconds of shock. Please let me know where those inconsiderates are staying on my next trip so I can hopefully get assigned to their room!:Pinkbounc

Why assume that it was the peoples fault? I would be irritated if someone was given my room keys when I was still there! I thought that housekeeping notified them when the room was cleaned!

PS, congrats on the upgrade!!

MermaidsMom,
I didn't assume. I didn't want to make my post overly long and have a negative tone. We were told when we returned to the desk that they had difficulty with these people before and that this was their second day 'over' check out. I'm sure that's why she was so upset that mousekeeping hadn't told them of the ongoing problem.

Just goes to show you, no one wants to leave disney......Anyway, good thing for you that those people were still there. WHat a nice surprise.

Wow, that's amazing to me that people don't check out when they are supposed to. I'm glad they took care of you and gave you an upgrade. :D Were you staying at the Yacht or Beach?

We stayed at the Yacht Club. Loved it! Talk about spoiled rotten :p

I assume you just returned, Swanmom. How were the crowds at SAB? How about the parks?

jdaa1,
Most days, we were pleasantly surprised the SAB was not too bad....... after reading here, I was prepared for the worst. There was room to move around the pool without 'crashing' into anyone and, in fact, there was a beach volleyball game being run by the lifeguards one afternoon. We were able to find chairs everyday.
One day, it did reach 95 degrees and SAB got pretty crowded. We just hopped over to the quiet pool on the other side of the building and practically had the pool to ourselves.
As for the park crowds, we found them to be moderate. With a little planning ahead, using fastpass and a reasonable amount of patience, we were able to do everything we wanted to without too much difficulty. For example we arrived at MK on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m and walked right to Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Railroad. We were able to walk onto Splash Mountain twice and then onto Big Thunder twice. Within 1/2 hour, the line was about 45 minutes long. Hope you have a great trip!
