Nancy I didn't know you where going in October as well.:cool1: I can't seem to keep track of these things. yes, the 1/2 is full but I would like to give the full a go.

Robert: I know my first marathon.....WOW that is a big step from the 1/2's I have done but I am confident I can do it. The ultimate goal is Goofy in 2010. Do you know somewhere I can stay in 2010:lmao: :rolleyes1 :upsidedow

Where is Dave today????

Nancy: I went to my 3rd post op today and good news:banana: Knee is coming along well and I can put 25% body weight on it. I can increase excercises and I can now have my brace bend 90 degrees. It was locked straight for the past 4 weeks.

My toe xray showed old bone spurs as well in joint but no surgery needed. May just flare up occasionally. My fingers I hurt in Jan at WDW were xrayed and aren't broken.

Now just need good news when head to Truckee for my ultrasound:)

Kim: you will knock out the full and I think you can do Goofy in 2010. Just give me a heads up about 2010 without too many mind changes:rolleyes1

Thanks Robert for the vote of confidence. I know I feel horrible about changing our minds so often, problem with Jan is our weather, trying to train and also getting flights out, we fly from Buffalo and they get tons of snow usually at that time of year. Also we will have to wait for holiday approval for Jan but that should be the least of the problems.

Glad all looked good at the Dr yesterday, good luck at the ultrasound today

Kim

Guys I'm sorry I've been missing for a few days. I've added more to my workouts and I've had to do a lot more around the house with Erica out of action with her feet healing. I hope everyone enjoyed the break from my rambling silliness.

Walking Panda:hippie:

Robert--- So glad that your knee is doing so well from the surgery and you don't need surgery on your good leg/foot. Good luck with the ultrasound.

Kim-- We have been going every Oct for the past 6 years to do the F&W so the past two have just added days to the vacation so we can be with our WISH friends. F&W is our favorite of all the festivals at WDW. We get there on 10/18. We have other Canadian friends that we cruise with that also fly out of Buffalo. They had trouble the one year flying out in Oct because of snow.

Did 4 miles last night outside. I love the 70 degree weather.

Nancy

I forget to say hi to Dave. Being a helper around the house will make you appreciate Princess Erica even more than you do now. Tell her I'm thinking about her and wish her a speedy recovery.

Ya Oct 06 was horrible they got dumped on with snow the week before we left on vacation. So far so good we have been very lucky...fingers are croseed.

This past March there was a huge storm coming in and it started to snow as we where on the tarmack but we got out in time...many did not. One of the down falls of cruising in the winter from the north...well you wouldn't think Oct would be a problem.... Oct 05 we almost didn't get into Florida because of Hurricane Wilma, but ended up being OK.

Hope you are all having a great day

Hey all Walkers,

I haven't posted here in alittel bit and just wanted to come around and say hi.

I've been training for the Minnie and trying out some new core work thanks to Panda!! Seems to be going well.
Still working on my racewalking form and trying to decide if I want to do another judged racewalk. I was sent and invitaion to the RRCA Florida State 10k & 5K Championship Racewalk. I would probably do the OPEN 5K racewalk, I don't think I have enough speed for a 10K.
(Not too excited about having to wear shorts that DON"T cover my knees, ugh)
I still have a bit of time to decide.

Take care everyone and good walking!!

Hi dear friends:flower3:

I have a problem I need help with. I put some iron on letters on my WISH shirts to put my name on the back. Parts are peeling off and I can't get the rest of it off, so it looks like crap. Any ideas how to get that stuff off? If I can get it air brushed if I can get it cleaned off.

I'm walking much stronger than ever since I dropped 17 lbs of pudge and started my core work and stretching.

Happy Panda:hippie:

HI all! Just jumping in because I am on teh ChiLiving mailing list and just got an e-mail you might to to know about.

Danny Dryer will be presenting ChiWalking on QVC May 13 at 4 pm. I'm not a QVCer and have no idea what will be presented. However, CHiRUnning has done wonders fro me and you may be able to get the book cheap then.

Happy walking!

Good Afternoon!

How is everyone? Walking on sunshine?! :cool1:

Ok, so no walking for me in about a week -- distracted by ds's school vacation, a weird work schedule, and alot of entropy. On the bright side, plenty of room for improvement this week! :lmao:

Carrie -- I'm always looking for good books, thanks for the heads up!

Dave -- Sorry, I don't have any advice about the lettering. So glad you are happy with your new weight! We are so proud of you! :cheer2: Keep on doing your chores, you know your building those all-important "Panda Points"!

Dsnyfan -- I wish I could work out covered head to toe, but I think it might slow me down...:rotfl:

Kim -- Best of luck with the weather, maybe if we all start crossing our fingers now it will be ok! :thumbsup2

Nancy -- You have 70?! I am so jealous. Someday we'll get there...:confused3

Robert -- How are you feeling? It sounds like you are healing and coming along. Still sending pixiedust: your way!

Denise -- I find that, too. Sometimes I need to be moving a good while before I find my stride, but eventually I usually get there!;)

Kathy -- Like you I'm usually on the TM. It is finally starting to get warm enough for me to move outside. Love that fresh air when I can get it! :woohoo:

Keep Movin' On!

Plus my son works at QVC so I can get a discount if he purchases it for me. I will have to check it out as I am not familiar at all with ChiWalking.

Maria--- Before you know it we will be complaining about the heat.

Congratulations Dave on your weight loss. I wish I could say the same. How is Princess Erica doing?

Only a few more days before I am off to WDW.

Hi Nancy, (((((((((((((Nancy)))))))))))):flower3:

Yes I'll tell her you sent your good vibes. She is healing nicely, we went to Nashville for her check up today.

Happy Panda:hippie:

Hi all,

I am starting to train for the Disneyland 1/2. I have read both Galloway and Bingham and I am trying to decide which to follow. Here is a question for you:

Do you find it better to train the distance (or over the distance) of a race or do you find that for a 1/2 Marathon you do okay if you only train to 10 miles. The Bingham book, I like the set up of the program. I'm just not sure of having a max of 10 miles.

Thanks for any input.

Hi Michelle,

I followed MfM training plan for walking a half and liked it a lot! Training to "only" 10 miles worked for me.

Michelle -- I agree with Pat. I used MfM to train for the WDW Half, and the ten miles was fine. By that time, you know you can do it. Three miles seems like not much more to do!

Ok, I did seriously hit a wall at 10 miles when I was on the course, but at that point I couldn't just stop. So I think you will be ok if you train to 10. Not having gone further didn't hinder me, and trust me I would have stopped if I hadn't been so determined to finish.

Thanks, you guys have eased my mind. Now I will have to find something else to worry about:rotfl:

Hey everyone!!!!!

Beautiful sunny day here but it is cold!!!!!! I have started the C25K, I am not sure how much running I would actually do in a 1/2 or full marathon but I am thinking it will help my endurance.

Hi maria, nice to see you here....I have been wondering if it was me that was MIA or you:hug:

How is everyone else doing??? I am so jealous of you Minnie people....I want to go!!!!!!

I guess I will just have to wait till Oct to see all my amazing WISHers again!!!

Kim -- I am jealous of the Minnie folk, and you TOT guys! I don't get to go back and see everyone until January! I really wanted to do ToT, but I have to go to Long Beach on business that weekend. I guess I can't complain too much, Southern California is much more pleasant than Massachusetts in October!

I have a rainy, yucky day today. I seriously wanted to just stay in bed, but that pesky mortgage gets in the way. :guilty: I have to walk to the subway, so at least I'll get some exercise. I just wish it wasn't in the rain. On the bright side, I have it on good authority that I won't melt :rotfl2:
