Hi Nancy, you gonna be at ToT princesses? Erica and I registered yesterday. I know Jeanne and John are going she mentioned that earlier in the year.

Any other walkers going to ToT?

Walking Panda:hippie:

Scott and I will also be at TOT, it is actually our annual Disney trip for Scott's birthday, so we will be there a week after the TOT. This time we are arriving just before the race and staying after, last year, our trip was planned before we knew about the race, and it ended up that we were there for a week before, and left shortly after the race. I like having the high altitude conditioning for the races, I think it really helps. We will be at BWV's for that trip.

Good luck to Erica and hope her foot keeps healing.

I heard from my Dr's office today that after my x-ray and blood work they ruled out Gout on my " good leg" or really big toe. It was discovered that I have a lump from a poorly healed fracture on my great toe from over 20 years ago. The lump (that is very painful to walk on) has to be looked at by a podiatrist or ortho Dr. I scheduled to have my knee surgeon look at it next week when he does my 3rd post op. I would have to wait at least 6 more weeks before I could have surgery on my only walkable foot. Unless I want to go into a wheelchair :( The news keeps getting better.

I still have to schedule a ultrasound for a lump elsewhere. When it rains it pours.

PT yesterday was tough and my leg strength is so bad, I can't do a straight leg lift. It doesn't take long for 2 surgeries to remove all my muscle. Back tomorrow and Friday.

:grouphug: Robert, I am sorry to hear the not so very good news. I said a prayer for you today. I know it has to be tough, but You are Way Tougher! :flower3: So what are you doing to keep your mind busy while the body is healing?

Hi walkers...
Dave: I hope all is well at your house. I see on the core thread that your walking is going good!!
Robert: I hope that things are getting better or working in that direction. I will put a :wizard: on that for you.

I just wanted to post that I had a very very nice walk today.
I did 4 miles. The first mile felt about the same as all the others, but when I got into mile 2 and doing some speed drills I was actually feeling pretty good and shins were doing ok and not screaming at me. The last two miles I was going at a pretty good clip for me and the Garmin barely told me I was going too slow.
So 4miles in 55min56.52sec. that is a 13:58min per mile pace!! That is the first under 14 I have had during any training!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :yay:

Hope everyone has a great walking day!!

That is awesome lady, you are at the point that you don't have to sweat the pace limits at races anymore.

 Tracy, that's fantastic! You definitely won't need to worry about being swept.

I am back!!!!! Sorry I have been neglicting these boards lately, just been spreading myself too thin between work and other social obligations but now that I am training faithfully again I feel worthy of hanging out with you all.

Sorry I am behind and hope I haven't missed too much.

Kim:

We all have those weeks where life gets in the way a bit. But thankfully we seem to come back into the fold, keep on training so that we don’t lose all that we have gained. I have 2 -- PM appts this week so I may not get as much training in as I’d like but next week will be better.

Glad your back and your always worthy to stop by even if it’s just for a bit of reassurance.

take care

Hey guys.

I had to work day shift today, inventory tonight. I hate the early shift, no workout time before I have to be at work. I'm spoiled I need time to take my time and then have a meal and a nap before work.

I had 2 rest days Sunday and today so I'm rested and ready to get going again. I need do about an hour of mowing with the push mower yesterday and today, so I don't have to do it tomorrow on my day off.

Saturday I did some walking at a 10 mpm pace, tomorrow I'm going to try a full half mile at that pace, if I'm on the treadmill. If I go outside I'll do 5 miles on the hills instead.

Yes life does seem to get in the way of our play at times but that just makes the time we do get more special. One thing about it we will have plenty of activities to keep us busy after we retire.

Walking is going along well. I bought a foam roller today at Target and did some of those streches....oh my god. The stretching is a killer. I had things that were tight. I love the shin stretch!! I also loved the hamstring and IT stretch. Also the moves you have to do to get the stretching done are a workout in themselves. My abs feel it and my triceps!!

Good walking everyone. I'm on to a walk at Mount Trashmore tomorrow after work.

Thanks Denise,

Had a great workout this morning, TM, weights and bike....then had to get on the phone for my Le Cellier ressies. Wasn't many left.

Hope everyone has a great day

Kim

Morning everyone. Have already voted this morning. I am so glad the PA primary will be over so I don't have to listen to all those commericials, more junk mail and get several phone calls a day.

Wow, Dave a 10mph pace you were really smoking.

Kim--- Gosh you are so ahead of the game making your ADR already. I usually do mine 2-3 months out no wonder I have trouble getting into LeCellier.

Denise---I'm with you that life does get in the way sometimes. Yesterday, car wouldn't start so had to deal with that after work. Today, DH Vue gets dropped off to get inspected and then we have to pick it up on Wed. Till you deal with the car issues, it is time to make dinner. I did force myself to the gym yesterday, but not sure what will happen today and tomorrow.

Tracy-- I love stretch class at the gym it is just hard to get there as the class is at 4:45pm. I do better if someone is directing me what to do.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Nancy

Nancy for party of 2 there was only 2 times slots 4:10 and 8:20 so I am glad I did call right at the 180 day mark.

I am a terrible Canadian, I have been to disney a ton of times and never been to Le Cellier. So we are doing it on our arrival night for ToT. Can't wait...already checking out the menu.....yummmmmm

Ohhh Nancy just noticed you are from PA. Apparently there is a awesome outlet Mall in or around Erie, PA. Do you know where it is or what the name of it is??? DD wants to go but I can't find anything.

Thanks

Kim

The ADR rule of allowing you to make all ADR on the 180 day for whole stay is what probably is causing the issue. If someone checks in 10 days before the 22nd, they can get the 180 + 10 day headstart.

Kim--- I have never been to Erie and it across the state from where I live so can't help you. We have a big outlet mall near me but that is no help to you.

Dave - WOW!!!:worship: A 10mpm - that's great.

My training for the Minnie is going OK. Last Monday I did 8 miles on the treadmill - avg pace 14:26 - I had a rough first two and half miles just couldn't get into a rhythm. The last few miles went great I was doing a 13:38 pace. I had the same issues on a LW on Sat - it took over two miles to "warm up" before I felt I could maintain a good pace. I also ended up with a blister on the bottom of my foot on Sat :sad2: Not sure why  I wore the same socks and shoes that I wore for my previous long walk. I've never gotten a blister in this spot before. The shoes have low miles on them but have enough (including the Jan half) that I don't think they caused the blister. Any ideas? Sat was my first outside walk in a long time - most of mine are on the treadmill.

I'm looking forward to the Minnie - hopefully I'll get to meet a lot of you there!

Kathy

Funny the same thing happens to me. Around 2.5 miles I start to drag and think I can’t make it. This also happened to me during the half when the sun was coming up. Then **POOF** I felt better and could go on an on. I guess it takes that long for us to warm up. Don’t get discouraged during the race, remember your miles and you’ll understand why your feeling a bit tired, head down, keep moving and then you’ll be fine!

Have a blast at Minnie!
