New VIP Tours

We saw Mike Miller and his family at WDW a couple of years back. They used Disney transportation, walked through the turnstile and waited in line..like everyone else. He was friendly and very down to earth.

Perhaps like me most people don't know who Mike Miller is?

Looked him up, still dont know who he is. I dont care for basketball though and would likely only recognize Kobe Bryant or LeBron James.

This information makes me question the tour... I don't like the "try for" up to 10 rides. I am open to possible ride changes, and I'd like to know what they might be before booking something like this, but I would want to be able to experience a total of 10 rides.
Pretty sure the "try for" comment is simply in relation to the fact that rides can be down (which affects all guests, since no one could ride them during an outage in service) and also possibly any major weather issues, like serious lightning storms. We were on a VIP tour last weekend (the Star Wars Ultimate) and our guides had to juggle some of our schedule because various rides were down temporarily. If one of them had stayed down and out of service all day we would not have been able to ride it.

I actually feel bad for people that have to do this....i have the money to spend on this tour I just wont do it. Its a shame that celebrities or the 1%ers cant enjoy WDW like the rest of us. FP+ MB's MDE ADR's 180+10 or 60 days for FP+, Rope Drops, waiting online at Aloha Isle 6 hours for A&E :lmao:

Do you feel bad for people who spend money to stay at the Grand Floridian? I have the money and I won't spend it on that either, but I don't feel bad for people who do. If they want to spend money on the experience, go for it! Doesn't bother me in the least.
Note the laughing smiley at the end of that original post, the poster was being silly/sarcastic. LOL.

We are taking this tour in a few weeks and saw your post. Did you end up taking the tour? What did you do as far as transportation and getting into the park? I'd love any feedback.

Personally, I wasn't delighted with it (for the price, I think you 'deserve' delight, lol!) and wouldn't do it again. I have the whole thing on my trip report (I have chapter headings, so you can find it if you just go to my most recent report for October 2014 in my signature). It might be better on a sunny summer day where the parks are crowded, but that wasn't really my whole complaint.

We parked at the TTA and took the monorail over. We got there EARLY, but I was glad.

I see signatures aren't like they used to be, so here's at least the page on my trip report where we arrived. You can read on about the whole tour or just get arrival information!

We had a CM friend that just told us about this last week... She was able to test them out. She said it was a very fun tour and you do get a FP for all those rides plus info about them. I actually think compared to the other VIP tour Disney offers that this is a decent price but yes it's expensive. I think though for the right people this makes sense... If you were only gonna be at Disney a day and wanted to make sure that you could do all this attractions or if you went during a busy time of year. We would consider doing the thrill one even though we are AP and have been on everything multiple times to learn about those rides... But I wish they took you to all 4 parks with the addition of TT and Soarin, and then ended you in a park in time for Wishes, Illuminations, or Fantasmic.

If I booked the tour, I would schedule FP+ for Soarin', TT, and Illuminations starting at about about 4-4:30. That's about the time the VIP tour would end. Maybe the van could drop you at Epcot??? When we booked it a few years ago, we went to all 4 parks. Of course, there was only 1 VIP tour at the time.

I thought about booking the VIP for our Girl's F & W trip in September but now it's $400/hour with a 6 hour minimum. It used to be ~$320/hour with 6 hour minimum.

Wow! I noticed someone earlier in the thread said you were lumped in with other people, and I'm not surprised to see it confirmed, but...I don't think the price of the tour is terribly exorbitant or anything, but for several hundred dollars per person plus your ticket plus park hopping and then having to do the tour in a group? No longer worth it to me, then.

Thank you for the detailed report on it, though!

Has anyone used a VIP tour company other than Disney? I'm interested in booking one for our Sept. trip. My first thought was Disney VIP but yikes the price has gone up a lot.
Have any of you used My VIP Tour? It's one of the companies I'm considering.

Thank you so much for the feedback! All of your details and pictures were so helpful! and you and your mom are absolutely precious! Again, THANK YOU!

Hmmm we are thinking about doing the VIP tour for our next trip. I would consider finding 6 others and figure out if we could do the tour with minimum of 6 hours. I am only thinking about it though. We have one mostly non rider with us and CM says if they come they pay the 299. I did ask our kids if they would pony up $100 towards it and they said yes. It will be our last time before the oldest goes to college. Instead of the photo share which is not allowed we could try for a VIP tour share :)

Last week we did the Keys to the Kingdom tour and had the VIP Thrill tour booked for our last day. After 4 days in the parks, we had actually already had several chances to ride the 10 rides that we were told would be on this tour so we canceled it.

When we asked our Keys to the Kingdom tour guide about the VIP tour, we were told that they basically take you to the fast pass entrance to 10 rides and provide you lunch and transportation but that the tour guides weren't expected to give history or details during the tour. When we did the math, 10 rides for $300 dollars pp was a horrible deal. That's $30 per ride to basically get in the fast pass line.

On the other hand, we paid $80 for Keys to the Kingdom and got an interesting behind the scenes look at the Magic Kingdom and also got to ride the Jungle Cruise and the Haunted Mansion.

The 10 rides quoted to us were:
MK:
Big Thunder
Splash Mtn
Space Mtn
Haunted Mansion
7 Dwarf Mine Train

AK:
Expedition Everest
Dinosaur

HS:
TOT
Toy Story Mania
Rockin Rollercoaster

I certainly don't want to offend if your family does make this choice, but wanted you to have as much information so you won't be disappointed.

I just left the above response but am now thinking that you are talking about a private tour as opposed to the VIP 'thrill' tour that we considered.
My apologies.

Does anyone know what restaurant is included with this tour?
For the VIP 'THRILL' tour, If you read ZehnJahren's report in the above link, she shows the menu from the Brown Derby that they chose from when they arrived at the beginning of the tour. It is a limited menu. She does a great job explaining that they did make some substitutions for her mom. They made their choices and their meals were ready for them when they arrived.

I did it in January. I was on a trip by myself, so it was fun to make new friends. The tour guides were nice and would point things out to us about the rides before/after/during rides, which was cool. I kept a list on my phone of the rides we did. At the end, we had the option to stay at AK, take a van to TTC, or take the other van to MK. There was a family that wanted to go back to the Contemporary and they took them with the MK group. The only part I found disappointing was HBD. We had to pre-order and they got my order wrong, plus we had assigned seating at lunch so I had to sit with the annoying family on tour instead of my new friends. Here's my list:

Pirates
Btmrr
Haunted mansion
Sdmt
Break by Gaston
Space mountain
Buzz
Van to studios
Rock n rollercoaster
Lunch at brown derby
Tsmm
Star tours
Tower of terror
Van to ak
Everest
Dinosaur

Sorry, I was actually asking about the restaurant that is included with the Ultimate Day tour for Young Families. It may have already been posted, sorry I just jumped to the end to ask!
