New Villas at WL

Will the addition of the new villas at the current WL make it any easier to get in Boulder Ridge? I have always tried in the past, even waitlisted but with no luck. I got on the waitlist for the Boulder Ridge building right at 7 months so hoping the new additional villas will help me finally get in. Stink that they are two different bookings. Anyone with any insight as to how this could play out? My only thought is someone would waitlist at Copper Creek who is currently at Boulder Ridge.

There will be a little movement as they add sell more CCV and add more inventory into CCV.

But the initial declaration of CCV inventory was small enough to barely make a dent for studios at a popular Christmas time.

(I assumed Christmas, because for trips before October, studios were usually available at 7mo, and 1BR were mostly available pre-December

I doubt it makes it any easier in high season. People buyBRV and now CCV for those bookings.

IMO adding any resort to the system increases the opportunity for booking there at 7 months. Many of the new owners don't even know what they bought and may have purchased CCV because the guide told them to. They will be switching at 7 months to the resorts that they really want.

So - how it works....

You may book your HOME RESORT at 11 months. Everyone else? 7 MONTHS. Nothing has changed, There are TWO TOTALLY SEPARATE DVC offerings at the WL.

BRV and CCV are two totally separate DVC offerings. There is no owner cross-booking. 11 months for those HOMED at a resort - 7 months for everyone else.

It's certainly possible that the Copper Creek waitlists include some members who already have a reservation at Boulder Ridge. So if there are cancellations for CCV or if DVD declares more villas, and if that results in some of those currently holding BRV reservations moving over to CCV, there will be BRV villas available to those waitlisting for BRV. Remember that the CCV waitlists also include members holding reservations at other DVC resorts and maybe even members who have no current reservations. So not all of the additional CCV space will go to those moving over from BRV.

But maybe some of the BRV reservations are waitlisted for something at VGF or BLT or BCV or etc. If those come through, then that will obviously free up some space at BRV.

Bottom line is that there is no way to know if your waitlist for BRV will work. (If your reservation is for a studio between Thanksgiving and Marathon weekend, I think it is a long shot) All you can do is make that waitlist, have a back up reservation & stalk the RAT. Sounds like you are already doing all of those things, so I will just wish you good luck.
