New Vacation Planner Smaller

Anyone else a bit annoyed that the 2005-2006 DVC planner is smaller than last year's? I like to put things I print out (ie tips from this board) in my planner, and 8x10 standard paper fit just fine in the little pocket in the back of last year's planner. (I just joined so I don't know what the deal was regarding size prior to 2004)

Now I have to either fold anything I put in there, which makes it bulky, or just put it in between the pages of the planner and have it sticking out and risk losing it if it falls out.

Minor irritation admittedly, but I wish the powers that be at DVC hadn't made the change.

This whole downsizing process began a while ago when they got rid of the binder. Every year it seems to get smaller and less thorough. In a couple of years it will fit in the palm of your hand.

I just wish mine would get here!!

But I can see your point if you like to store printouts in the book and can no longer do so .... could you maybe shrink your printouts as an alternative?

Well now that you mention it I suppose I could cut them down to make them fit, rarely does the subject matter take up the entire 8x10 page. But I still miss the convenience of printing out info on standard paper and popping it in the planner.

COOL!!! Palm Pilots instead of print media...boy and some say our maint. fee goes to nothing good.

Yeah! They did so well making the web site work properly that this seems like a logial next step.

It's actually a great idea but I can't even imagine the same people who do the web site being left to create a downloadable file for our Palms. It would be nice to have while I sit at boring meetings.

You might want to email MS with your reaction to the downsizing. Be sure to tell them how you use the planner and why the new size doesn't work as well.

I agree. Email MS about the diownsizing. At least you will feel better afterward, which I did LOL!

They used to send us a page or two to add to our notebook. Everything costs money--I like to see them go back to just sending the couple of pages that we used to get. I always manage to misplace the thing as it is now.

I totally agree! It was so nice to get the new pages to replace the old ones with. No need for the added expense of a whole new booklet that has nowhere near the information in it used to. I still use my binder all the time. I paper punch everything and store it in there. My planner usually gets lost too, and I have to try and figure out the dates if it isn't in my ring binder.

No, not Palm Pilots, post cards, with 4pt Times Roman print. Saves on ink, paper and postage is even less.

I'm jealous of all you "old timers" who have the binder, it sounds so much nicer than what they send now. Wahhhh I feel so inadequate.

I'll take you all up on your advice and write to MS to tell them how I feel. May not make a difference, but you're right, I'll feel better.
