Is it possible to change to your username at all or are you pretty much stuck with it once you created the account?

No, the username can’t be changed. Best/easiest thing to do is to start a new account.

You can't delete your account, but You can change the email on the old name to some random (not necessarily true) one. And then use the right one for the new account.

I would like to suggest with the push for "Right to be Forgotten" laws that the ability to delete ones account should be allowed.
