Hi all!
My wife and I are currently planning our second trip to WDW. Our first was in early November 2013. We had friends who were running the 1/2 Marathon at the Food & Wine Festival, so we went down there to support them, and had a great 4 day trip. We were able to attend MVMCP, as well as the Finish Line Party in Epcot. Both were awesome! (at Epcot we got to ride Test Track three times in a row!). As soon as we got back, we knew we needed to go back, and take more time. We crammed an awful lot into four days, and while it was a lot of fun, it was also very exhausting.
This time around, we're going for a week in February. I'm a teacher, so my vacation time isn't flexible; we have the week of President's Day off, so that's when we're going. Based on all of my research, though, this looks like it's going to be a pretty bad week to visit. Everywhere I look seems to be expecting very heavy crowds that week.
For anyone who has been during that time before: how bad is it, really? We have a few ADRs that we really want (including lunch at Sanaa and dinner at Boma), which is dictating part of our schedule. We don't want to plan and structure every last minute and detail, though; we like to be able to be spontaneous, which will be harder if the crowds are really bad.
