New updates rant

Since the new updates I am unable to play any games. I Keep gettting DC.
I can barely walk in VMK. I think anyone with the bare minimum to play VMK now has the disadvantage of not having enough memory to play this game. I find that I can move fine for like 5 minutes then the game eats my memory.
Nothing like watching my character walk in spot for 15 steps and then all of a sudden get to the spot.

I did enjoy the new enhancements but now I can not enjoy the game at all. For a free game to be able to play it will cost a lot to upgrade my computer.

So sad. From what I can tell people with lots of ram are having no issues with lag.

Looking for tech support what can we do till we upgrade outr computers.

i play on a laptop. it is always lagging, but the game has seriously become too big i agree. there are so many little things that are animated in the game.
this weekend has been the worst ever for me.
since they added those new loading boxes to the inventory lists and shops etc and the new blue tornadoes for people loading, it just screws it up big time.
i walk around for like 5 mins as a blue swirly thing before i get my body!

argh! i share your pain! im exactly the same. if i try and do something vmk just crashes out on me. its so frustrating! it takes forever to load and then i cant even play it!

I am not even sure it has to do with ram etc. My laptop is pretty new and stocked with extras, and I keep dc'ing left and right. Heck, I have also had trouble getting on the game. Four out of five times that it is loading and "connecting to server", it will dc me right there. So annoying.

I think the new updates, and the fact that people are crazily trying to earn credits slows the game down. I have been having game trouble too... It is even taking longer to load the game!

Just give it sometime. And give the staff some time to work it out.

I cant stand how long it can take for your items to come up when you are in a trade! Bring back the old inventory!

I agree, they should bring back the old shopping and inventory windows. They might as well paint Yavn pink and give him a drum and sunglasses. It just keeps loading ... and loading ... and loading...

I can't get through a game of fireworks. I've completely given up on playing this month.

I think a lot of the problems has to do with how many people are in VMK and how many are playing games to make credits.

There have been so many times this weekend where it was difficult to get into a game of Mansion. There have been a couple times where I had trouble starting a game of Pirates too.

My own computer has little memory and is not very fast compared to today's computers. So, while I have had some slowing down, I usually make sure to have little else open on my computer. I also clear out my temp files after playing a game and every once in a while otherwise.

But, I also have troubles with fireworks now too. I can't even finish the first level without crashing.

I have had trouble playing HM ALL weekend long, because it's always full! And I've crashed on Fireworks several times. Since I'm lousy enough at Pirates that I end up gaining maybe 3 credits per game once you deduct the 21 credit cost to play, I've pretty much been stuck with HM and Fireworks for my credit-earning. It's been tough, but I'm up to 3 stars on my bat magic and on my way to building up some more to spend if new stuff comes out Friday!

I guess my point is...I'm one of those credit-earning fiends who has been messing up the game for you. Sorry about that.

I'm also having trouble. I've been crashing in fireworks so it's been hard to complete my games. Then I decided to try HM and I'm crashing in this game also. It does seem to be hit and miss though for me.

For a free game VMK sure costs alot Just got a new laptop. Should be good for another 2 years. Last time I got a new lap top was because I could not play games on VMK. Wonder if VMK has a contract out there somewhere to help increase computer sales ROFL

And from talking with others I heard that one player got a new computer because they wanted to get high score in fireworks so that does not make me feel so bad

Most of the issues that most people have are not because of VMK, per se. When you open Internet Explorer, do you have the Yahoo, Google, MSN and a host of other toolbars? When is the last time you did a disk cleanup? Cleaned cookies and Temporary Internet Files? Did a spyware scan? Are you running a firewall?

With this update, VMK actually REDUCED the load sent to the PC. So I would say, for the most part, it is not VMK causing the issues, but each individuals PC. (for the record, I play VMK on 5 different computers. Two are rather new, but the other 3 are at least 3 years old, with the oldest being 7 years old and I do not have very many issues at all.)

Yup and Yup I have Clean up my PC. Did that. Also speed up my PC. The lap top I have only has 512 ram. So yes I could play VMK. No, had no goodle bar. I would close down all programs even virus just to play a decent game of ghosts. And forget MSN messenger. Would slow me down even more.

I think part of the issue though is my internet provider. Seems that a major server had problems thus the result of me not being able to play anything in VMK.

But I must say I compared the two in logging in. I was able to get 3 characters on to the one on the older lap top.

Yes, oldercomputers will not be as sharp when playing VMK, but there are too many variables to look it before even saying "it is VMKs fault" because 99.9% of the time, it isnt. Especially now. VMK has to keep up with the Shockwave updates, they do not have a choice. But this time, Shockwave streamlined itself and sped up, so VMKs latest update did the same. VMK is using LESS of your system resources than it did before (although it was great until they did the first big upgrade, I used to be able to get 14 charachters on at once, now I can barely run 3).

you made my brain hurt Well all I know is it works so much better now. But I do admit I think it is the internet computer provider that slowed down VMK the most. But hey my hubby got me a new computer thinking the old one was no good for VMK playing so I will not complain
