Got this today as we have a reservation for this summer. I’m sure they are doing this preemptively so they do not not have actually give me a refund when they cancel the flight. We’re going to wait A bit.

We know it's difficult to plan ahead right now, so we're offering you even more flexibility to change or cancel your future travel. Now you can change any flight scheduled between June 1 and December 31, 2020, to a date up to 12 months from your original ticket issue date, or cancel your ticket and retain the credit for future use up to 24 months after your original ticket issue date, both without a change fee. This fee waiver is available for a limited time, through April 30, 2020.

also, this is their attempt to not give refunds, as required by federal law.

Moreover, I don’t trust them. On our outbound flight to WDW in March, it was delayed by six hours and they offered $150 travel vouchers for use on future flights.

Turned out you had to use it within 24 hours, or, *poof*, gone.

You read my mind on not trusting United. Even though the DoT has reiterated the law that cancelled flights get refunds people still have to fight for them from several airlines. I read in the WSJ that American and Delta have been good about it.
