Hi there! Ok well surprise, surpise, surprise! Totally not what I was expecting. Turns oot the sonogram was more invasive then I thought! I wasn't ready yet but he thought I would be ready by monday so I need to do the pee stix over the weekend and just keep track. So, I'm sitten with my beer and DH in a restaurant. DSD and her BFF are playing video games and life is on pause for a while. I'm lookin forward to going to the city w/ Mike tomorrow and enjoying the weekend.

Happy Birthday Mrs Charming. I hope your day and your year are magical!

DD OMG 40 is so not old! I'm going to be 39 in March and we're NOT OLD! You will have a magical birthday! Can't wait to hear! Would u send me a pic while you are there?

Ok kids are back! Have a good evening!

Thank you :) Heh, you gotta love the "invasive" sonograms... especially when you expect an external one!

But hey, you're out having a beer and a nice time, so that should make up for it!

Happy Birthday to all of y'all December girls!! My birthday was in October and I turned 31. That hit me hard because I had always "planned" on being done having kids by 30. *sigh*

E...LOL! Gotta love those internal ultrasounds! My first one was to confirm miscarriage...that was a blast! Since then, it's been to check for follicles so I just focus on the screen to see the follicles and not think about what's going on. One good thing about this TTC crap is that any modesty I may have had about going to the doctor is all gone. Plus, I actually find that the more I do the scans, the more I get to know the ultrasound techs and they know me, so it actually makes me more comfortable. They wish for the magic number 20 with me every time!

Charming and Soontobe...We thought about doing the Poly in June for our 10th anniversary trip. I thought that the Poly would go well with the cruise. But now I'm thinking about trying to see if we can do the GF since that's where we honeymooned. Decisions, decisions. I keep hoping for the darn pin code that it seems like everyone in the world has received via email except for me!!!

The first time I had an internal ultrasound, I cried after. I knew what was coming, but I had been so sure that my first internal would be to confirm pregnancy and I felt like I was missing out on something. Silly, but still. I had several that weren't to confirm pregnancy-probably 20 or so. By the end, I didn't even notice them anymore. Still, hard at first.

Hi everyone. Had the IUI this morning, it went easy peasy and now it's just sit around and suffer through the tww.

My birthday was exactly a week ago, it's funny there are so many December ladies here.

We're off to dinner and to see the Nutcracker tonight. I asked dh if he was excited for the Nutcracker and he said NO, lol, he only goes because I love it. Oh well, I do lots of things that he enjoys that I don't care for too much.

Thanks! Turning 40 is the worst cuz it feels like the timer has gone off and its only a matter of time before the entire system shuts down!!!:headache:
I'm going to try to have a nice b-day this week any way. At least I'll be at Disney on Wed.
I won't be able to send you a pic cuz I don't have the ap on my phone nor will I have internet access. :guilty:If I get to a place that does, I will try and post an update at least.

I wasn't able to get an IUI to work until I was 32. Had my second son when I was 33. We adopted my oldest DS when I was 31. Turning 30 was hard but when I look back it wasn't as bad as 40 cuz I knew I had some more years to try. Now I feel like I maybe have 2-3.

I have had so many internal ultrasounds, I've started asking for a cigarette afterwards. :lmao: My doc always did mine on a full bladder too. Says its easier to see the ovaries when bladder is full. Wow! Now that was tough to hold.

Good luck with the IUI. We'll keep our fingers crossed for you. :thumbsup2
Happy b-day a week late. It really is strange how many of us have Dec. b-days.

:bday: on the 22nd soontobewed!!!!

AF arrived today so now I can take a little break and relax until March.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

 Sometimes we all need a little break. It was nice not to have to stress as badly when I was on the pill in October before my surgery. This crap is so stressful! I hope you are one of the fortunate ones who can get it off her mind for awhile.

(I'm not one of those women, I can't get this TTC crap off my mind! Someone really needs to knock me over the head with a 2x4.)

I hate internal ultrasounds. I had a couple to check the size of follicles and the doctor really had to dig around. Ouch! I was almost in tears.

Thanks girls I think DH was just as upset as I was. I kinda figured oh well.

Things are getting crazy around here I hope everyone has a great holiday if I don't pop in, but I am sure I will LOL

Well ladies - I posted on here a while ago. My Dh and I have been TTC since our miscarriage (9/08). I am having a HSG on tuesday. I am feeling fortunate that my RE office felt it was important for me to get the results of all my tests before they take their Christmas break and squeezed me in for friday to go over my tests. So I will know what we are up against before Christmas - which may be good and may make the Christmas harder.

Now I just gotta get my DH to take care of his "sample" they need - he is complaining about it and I said I would rather leave a sample then have the HSG! He gets no sympathy from me!

BTW I agree about the internal Ultrasound - wretched!

SoonToBE - so sorry about AF.

The HSG is a lot easier than it seems, it doesn't take long, not much longer than an annual exam, probably equal on the discomfort level as a pap smear. You'll be fine :) DH gave his "sample" when I had my HSG, he was complaining about how awkward it was-- I told him, um, no sympathy here! LOL. I don't really think he understood what the HSG was! A lot of women get pg after their HSGs too, hopefully you'll be one of them. :goodvibes

That's great that your RE was so good to squeeze you in before Christmas. YAY!

HSG experiences vary. I know several that have been on this thread had pretty bad experiences. For me, I had no problem at all. Minor discomfort, but that was about it. I went to work afterwards. I was so nervous because I had read so many horror stories, so maybe that's why I thought it wasn't too bad.

When DH had his first SA done, he did the collection at home and I raced to the lab with it. For our first IUI, I made him go to the lab with me and he did the sample there. He HATED that. He said it was so awkward to go into that room. For the last two IUIs, he again did the collection at home and I brought it in. My DH also knows he would get little to know sympathy from me when he'd complain about doing the samples. When he'd do that, and I'd be in a bad mood, I'd go into great detail about the things I had been through...that usually shut him up (and turned him white in the process!). LOL!!

MommaSnowWhite..that's great they were able to fit you in! I've always found that having an answer, whether good or bad, is always better than having the dreaded "unexplained" diagnosis.

Hey, I have a question for you all. I'm taking Fertilaid right now, and I'm on CD21 and still no LH surge. I'm really tempted to stop taking it. If you were me and normally ovulated around days 18-20, with an LH surge about 24-26h before... would you stop taking it and just ride out of the rest of your cycle, or take the chance that the Fertilaid is somehow preventing ovulation? I just don't want this to be a ridiculously and unnecessarily long cycle because of some stupid herbal stuff.

What would YOU do?

Sorry Soontobewed. I just finished a 4 month TTC break and truthfully the break was a great relief. I considered extending it another month or two I was so dreading starting everything up again.

Mrs. Charming, I'm not familiar with Fertilaid so can't really say what I would do. I don't know if I would keep taking it though if this is your first time trying it and your cycle is so much longer.

Mommasnowwhite, it is very fortunate you are able to get in and meet for the results before Christmas. I also like to know what I am dealing with sooner rather than later.

I don't know what it is about the men and their samples, I would think they would be more than happy to provide it without any complaint.

It is a miserable gloomy, rainy, rainy day here. I hope it clears up, I have errands and shopping to get done.

Not sure. Is there estrogen in it? If there is even a derivitive of it (like soy-something, then that will screw things up. If I were you I might stop for a bit just to see if you O.

:headache:That sooooo stinks!!!!!

Crossing my fingers for you Chloe!

Mrs, Charming- I don't know anything about Fertilaid either- I thought it was supposed to help regulate your cycles...? Or at least help in some way! I was thinking of looking into it (but I already have ridiculously long cycles), so let me know how it works out for you or if you find out any more about it.

Hugs and pixie dust to everyone, I know it gets hard for me around the holidays.

Holy crap!! I have a LH surge, finally!! I didn't take the FertilAid today, and tonight for the heck of it I used an leftover CBE monitor stick from an old pack that I can't use. Well, whaddya know, LH surge! YAYYY! I didn't think I'd have one this month, sweeeet!

Just had to share my excitement. You'd swear I got a BFP... lol!

Mrs. Charming...I don't want to see you on the DIS for the next day or two!! Get to work, girl! ;) ;)
