DMickey - Congratulations!

Allison - Hope things went well today!

Everything went well with the IUI today. I actually had the same nurse as yesterday through the HCG mess, so that was nice. They even put me in the same room at the hospital! The on-call Dr was great. She sounded so positive! LOL! She said DH's sample was great and that all the sperm went where they are supposed to (apparently they can escape sometimes. :confused3 ). The lab tech that did the wash didn't sound as excited about DH's sample, so I'm just sticking with the Dr's opinion!! DH did the sample at the lab, but said never again!! LOL! I was given Dr's orders to BD tonight and tomorrow. So I guess this will be the LONGEST 2ww of my life!!

For those of you that did IUI before, what's the earliest I can test w/o getting a false positive from the trigger?

I think trigger HCG lasts in your body around 10 days. What I've heard of some people doing is POAS daily until they stop getting a positive, then keep doing it to see if they get a real positive, if that makes sense. I would possibly consider that with dollar tree tests, but have never done it.

I'm glad you had a good experience with it. It's definitely not as bad as you would think.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you Allison!
Congrats DMickey!

DMickey, congrats! I think we were pg together on the last thread. Maybe that is good luck for me. ;)

Got a question for you all. This is my first month off BCP so we are TTC. At something like CD14 I started to feel cramping and it last 2 more days. I'm almost positive that was ovulation pain. I talked to my OB about it once before and he said that if it happens mid-cycle, that's probably what it is.

However, my temps didn't rise til several days later, and by rise I mean they went up a few degree tenths. Hardly a change worth noting. I am only a little higher than that now, and I'm on CD28 or something like that.

So I'm thinking that I can not trust my temps at all. I feel like I ovulated one of those few days that I had abdominal pain. Anyone experience a delayed temp shift, or ovulation pain?

TIA and GL to all TTC!

Congrats DMickey!:thumbsup2

I hope all is going well for you Skuttle!

WDWAurora and all ~ So I called my dr. She is actually a midwife whom I met when I had an ovarian cyst 10 years ago. She works in an office that I believe has fertility specialists there. It's all connected in the hospital. I needed to work everything out so that I could go when my boss is on vacation so my appointment is for September 4th. It's a wait but as someone said at least I am being proactive. I bought some ovulation test strips off of ebay but to be honest either I'm still "new" or I'm really not sure how to read them:confused3 The Negative looks pretty much like the postive. Next month I am going to buy one of those ones in the store that tell you digitally yes or no straight off the bat so there is no confusion. ;)

I'm not even thinking about testing this month cause I think I'd feel something different so I'm already going with it didn't take. Easier to deal with that way.

Baby dust ladies!pixiedust:

vettechick-I never did temping (well, for like 2 days), so I have no idea. I do know that for some people, it's an exact science, but not for others.

esbrick-What kind of ovulation tests did you buy? I have the clearblue easy monitor. I liked it, but it didn't help me. It did give me reassurance when I was doing ovulation trigger shots. I haven't used it in months and should probably sell it on ebay. I try not to test as well because I hate the disappointment. Easier not to.

I did finally call the RE today just to ask about the breakthrough bleeding I'm having on the pill since it's been going on for about a week and a half. She pointed out something I hadn't thought of-low dose pill! I've never been on one of those (except maybe this past Christmas, but only for 3 weeks). She said it's normal and should continue. I tried not to call, but after that long, I needed reassurance.

Next Monday I go in for my baseline finally!

Esbrick...OPK's are a pain! What I did this month was use the cheap ones until they started getting darker and possibly positive. Then I used the clear blue smilie face ones. Made things a lot easier, and I didn't have to waste the good ones early on. I actually used them every time I went to the bathroom starting around cd10 to make sure I didn't miss my surge!

Courtney, yay!!! It's finally time! Woo hoo!!!

Well it sounds like everyone is doing well and I will be on this road alone soon, but I will be more than happy to be on this road alone as long as all of you have healthy chubby babies.

You're not alone because I am here. Lurking a lot but here to listen.

Just got back from a week in the U.S. DH was on business in Fargo and then we were in Minneapolis for the weekend for the USA Cup soccer tournament.

Back to the grind now. Bleh.

I am here as well. Lurking and hoping for everyone to get a BFP. AF started today for me so no luck again this month. I knew the timing was bad since I was out of town alot on business.

Glad to see I'm not alone!

Well ladies went for my pre admission testing today and they actually forgot to draw blood this is after they stuck me 4 times for just that 1st tube. I am beyond annoyed I am not sure what to do anymore. I think I need to change hospitals but I LOVE my OB and I don't want to loose him. :confused3
I left there crying because this is now the 2nd time this month I have had major issues with this hospital and they can't do the surgery Friday if I don't have a beta HCG done. So I am hydrating today to get stuck again tomorrow. Then D&C Friday.

Glad everyone is having super baby dust after friday it's the 2 month countdown until clomid. What a long road!

Allison - Great news about the IUI. I know alot of girls test the HCG out of their system and then keep testing to get the realy BFP!

Vettchick - Do you have a chart on the cart that you can post? Fertility friend or Ovusoft? It's easier to see and understand that way. I have had a slow rise a few times after Ovultation. Sometimes I'll have two days of temps just at or slightly above the coverline and then will jump up. I really have to rely on CP and CM at those time to confirm Ovulation.

I am waiting for my 3rd HCG results. I am 14DPO today but changed labs so hopefully the numbers aren't too different.

9DPO - HCG: 9 Prog: 11
11DPO - HCG: 35 Prog: 13.5

I had some pink/brown spotting over the last 24 hours but it seems to have dropped off now. I went this AM to the doctor and he started me on Progestrone supplements and sent for the more HCG testing. At this point it can go either way I think. The HCG is low but doubling nicely so we will see. I want to call the office to ask if the results are on the computer yet because the hospital said within an hour or two but I don't want to be a pest!!

Dmickey...I hope things continue to go well for you!!

I actually took one of the dollar store tests the day after IUI just to see if it would be positive, and it was. First time I've seen a positive HPT in a LONG time! LOL! Too bad it doesn't mean anything. I haven't tested again since, so I'm not sure when I'll test again. The last thing I want is a false positive!! I'd rather BFN than a false BFP!

DMickey - Those numbers look great!!!

Skuttle - is your doc having you come in around 14dpo, or are you just checking at home?

Jen...I just have to test at home and call either with a BFP or AF. I was hoping to maybe test at 10dpiui, but I've been reading that it's possible that the HCG could still be in my system as long as 14 days. Ugh! I'm out of town today, but I think I may test on Thursday morning and keep testing from then on. My positive the day after IUI was pretty faint, but it was on a dollar store test that was a few months old so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it. I have a few more Dollar store tests, so I"ll do another one on Thursday to see if I'm still getting a positive. That would be 4 days post IUI, so a BFP would still be from the trigger shot. Then I'll go from there.

I was really hoping to have good news by Saturday...which is the day of the dreaded baby shower. That won't happen since I'll only be 6 days post IUI. Ugh! This way may be better. I know the shower would be unbearable if I had a BFN. At least this way I can still have some hope.

I know the clomid can make my cycle longer, especially since i normally O late and have a short LP. I'm trying to focus on how many days post IUI I am as opposed to focusing on cycle days. For example, CD28 will only be 10dpiui.

Hi everyone.

looks like i've got a lot of pages to get through but i just wanted to join and say hi :)

little info then i promise i'll start reading.

i'm 41, been married for 5 years (july 1) and have a beautiful daughter who's going to be 4 in the autumn.

we've been trying for 3 years to have a second child but it's not happening.

i have just been told (today) that all kinds of blood work numbers are way off and have been put on metform.

dr tells me this should help me not only loose weight, but prevent me from getting diabetes and should help regulate my hormones and my ovulation (which i may have only ovulated twice - once for dd and once for a m/c)

i'm looking forward to chatting with you all :)

:tiptoe:*lurking*

Skuttle, I am hoping this is it for you so much! I know how badly you want another baby, so I'm rooting you on. I lurk this thread a lot but I just had to tell you good luck!!

DMickey, congrats on your BFP!

Everyone else, I hope you all get your BFP soon as well :grouphug:

*back to lurking* :tiptoe:

Kurby...I'm so glad you decided to check us out!! I hope things continue to go well with the Metformin. DH and I have a 6 year old DS and we've also been TTC #2 for 3 years. We did our first IUI on Sunday. I think my Dr took things a lot slower than a childless couple because we already had one healthy pregnancy. I think for a while she figured it happened once, it would happen again. My DH also dragged his feet a bit with going for his testing b/c he hates doctors. Secondary infertility sucks!!

Heather...Thank you SO much!! I'll admit I lurked a bit during your pregnancy and after your son was born, checking out the pictures. :)

Kurby - after actively trying and not ovulating for 2 1/2 years, and being off BCP for 4 years, I ovulated and conceived a week after starting Metformin. Hope it works for you!

Allison - still thinking good thoughts for you!
