Wednesday 9 April
Another early start for a 7 o’clock breakfast (saw Bolanette 87 as we were coming out ) and once again we were at the Park by 8 o’clock. We got chatting to a mum in the queue who turned out to live only about 10 miles away from us and had just bought a house only about 6 miles away – hey small world. One of the many things I love about being on holiday is how people get talking to each other so easily. You know at home many people will do anything to avoid eye contact and really don’t want to talk to strangers but at Disney everybody chats. As dtr and I never stop talking this suits us fine.

Fortunately for us Buzz was working and there was nobody else around so we could take a space cruiser each. This meant I didn’t have dtr spinning me round and round and I got my highest ever score of 224,000. We rode Buzz again, Peter Pan twice, Pinocchio twice, dtr did Space Mountain twice and then we did Buzz again. This is what I love about EMH – I love all of those rides (well, not SM obviously) and would be quite happy to ride them over and over but there is just no way I could get this many rides in during normal operating hours.
Dtr and I had a little gentle browse around Constellations before going over to queue for rope-drop at the side entrance to Frontierland. Once again dtr was first in the line for BTM and rode while I got FPs for later. We went round twice on POTC and then into Fantasyland for our first (and only) ride this trip on LPDCDF and Casey Jr, stopping on the way to admire the blossom.

We went back for our FPs at BTM ( although I don’t actually ride, of course) and dtr rode Indiana. After getting an autograph from Baloo we went on PM and then off to our lunch at AdeC.

We loved this as much as we did at Christmas. Here I am with my cocktail.

We even had the same waiter – he has the world’s deepest and huskiest voice. I thought at Christmas he had a cold, but it was still the same now – think Barry White but huskier.
Anyway we love the food here – the couple at the table next to me barely touched any of their food at all – when I had finished my starter I was tempted to lean over and say “if you’re not eating that foie gras, pass it over here and I’ll have it”

The character interaction is great, but this one is strictly for the girls or for very girly boys. Suzy and Perla posed with dtr and at the last minute pulled her Minnie ears over her eyes.

The desserts here are soooo yummy – except those red berry things – they are extremely tart.

Dtr ate them all instead – strange taste that girl has.

We went back to SL for a rest, although dtr insists that she didn’t go to sleep. Funny then that I had such a job waking her up an hour later! We saw Minnie in the lobby

and Pluto, (who seemed to be everywhere) and then headed for the Studios for dtr to ride TOT

SSL14351Small.jpg

then went to the Park to watch Tarzan. This was amazing and really blew me away. I’m already looking forward to seeing that again in August.
To finish off the day we went on PM, POTC , Buzz (bought the photo at last) and then dtr rode BTM.

We walked back to the Hotel to let the crowds die down in the Village before we did our shopping. Looking out at our lovely lake view......

SSL14361Small.jpg

dtr noticed there were fireworks going off again – but this time over the Studios.

SSL14360Small.jpg

There weren’t as impressive as the previous night’s but they were still lovely to watch.
We went to the Village and bought a few things in the Disney Store – pens, keyring, notebook, magnets…oh and a new Disney trolley-case. We took a photo of one of the Disney Store windows as a little treat for my husband – she is his favourite character. (Can’t think why)

Then we decided we were hungry again so we went to Annettes for a little something. (burger and chips and hotdog and chips). It was a good time to go as there was no queue and we were seated straight away. It was gone 11 by the time we left there and headed back to SL Sleep came very quickly. Goofy was booked for 6 again.
Tomorrow: boo, last day.

I think my boys would have left me to it at AdeC:lmao: Its definitely something you need a girl for! (I love redcurrants - your daughter has good taste ;) )

1st time ive seen Minnie in that outfit, so thanks for sharing :)

Sounds you had a great day.

You certainly fit a lot into your days:thumbsup2 Lovely photos:goodvibes

Redcurrants - of course. I keep forgetting what they are. At Christmas I called them cranberries and somebody told me the right name and I still forgot.

You've made me realise it must have been busy when we went in Feb - EMH was definitely a lot busier and we queued 40 mins for Dumbo.
Another great day!

Another fabulous fun filled day. We love to get to the park early (haven't experienced EMH yet) do all the rides we can and then take it easy, just after lunch we normally head back to the hotel for an hour or so either to rest or swim.
Off to read the next part now!

You certainly seem to get lots done :thumbsup2 Another great day :goodvibes

Loving your reports you look like you did it all and your DD is so sweet ,im going in august without DH and just two girls who are expecteing me to do TOT with them (hubby usually does all the stunts) How is it is it? not to bad I hope :scared1:
wait a min just looked at the TOT pic again and you arn,t on it just her ,guess that answers my question LOL

Love the photo of ToT and I am so looking forward to doing this, the peoples faces look so startled.

BTW what is LPDCDF?

steve

BTW what is LPDCDF?

It is the story-book boat ride. In French it is Le Pays des Contes de Fees

I'm in awe of your DD, riding ToT on her own. :)

I'm afraid that if she didn't she would need to wait until the trips where Daddy is along too.:rotfl: I'm much too scared to attempt it. I accompany her right to the lift door, then scuttle down the chcken exit.

How random to have the same waiter twice! Hope he was good in addition to having his husky voice. I keep thinking I want to try Auberge out to see the characters, but then I see the food and think I'd be just like that couple who barely touched anything . . . none of it looks familiar to me at all and not sure how adventurous I feel.

I love seeing Mickey and Minnie in their various costumes! Do you think it is ok to get your picture taken with them if you aren't a guest at the hotel? Or is it a guest only kind of perk? Does the Lodge have much of a gift shop?

Maybe next trip you can challenge yourself to brave the tower-- you might be surprised that you like it!

Anyone can have their photo taken with the characters at the hotels.

DD had a wonderful time dancing with Mickey at Hotel new York last summer (and we were staying at Holiday Inn) and playing with Pluto at Sequioa Lodge at Christmas (we were staying at DCR)

Does the Lodge have much of a gift shop?

There is certainly plenty to choose from in there, but nothing unique that you don't see elsewhere.
Something I found out on this trip - nowhere on site sells pain killers (paracetemol or ibuprofen) - so make sure you take some with you in case of headaches etc.

Some of us have been known to visit every hotel for the character meets :rolleyes1

I'm most impressed at your DD riding these attractions alone :)
