Just curious-does anyone know if there will be a pool area at the the treehouse villas section of SSR?
If this resort keeps expanding we will need in-house shuttles to get around.

I was talking to MS today and asked she said there will be a leisure pool ???
what ever that is
but no added dining

There was a pool located in the THV section back when the original structures were part of Disney Institute; don't know if this pool is perhaps being redone - based on original it would fit leisure pool description ( meaning it's not like the feature "main" pool with slide, etc. )

:)

Yes, there was and will be a pool. Don't know about any poolside eateries/bar yet, but I would expect there to be one.

I remember swimming in the old pool, when it was the old treehouses.. it was just a plain old rectangular ( or maybe L shaped) pool. It was located in "back" of the treehouse complex, away from the entrance, near waterway. Oh, as I was just thinking of this, I do remember that there we peacocks there too, They were beautiful. The pool had a changing room/bathroom area and vending machines. This was all 11 years ago, things may have changed.

think someone else posted there would be 2 bus stops and a marina- so guessing it will be on the OKW, SSR, DD route.

I'm at BWV now and just went to SSR to check out BLT. They had a model of the THV and we asked a few questions. They did have a map and it had 2 bus stops for THV and a pool. They said it would be a quiet pool and it was located on the opposite side of the main THV entrance from the road. It was towards SSR/OKW and golf course side if that makes any sense.

The THV layout had a master bed, another bedroom with one bed, and the other had bunks. Looked nice and would work out great for families (at least ours). However nice the layout is I think it might be too remote for us with the kids. I asked about the golf cart thing that people have mentioned on the boards and was told nope not at first at least. Will be a tough one for us because the layout is perfect for our family but don't want to be such a haul from the other pools and stuff. You can take a bus into the main area but that really seems like a pain. I did not do the walk to see how bad it would be it just looked like a hike, who knows maybe in reality it wouldn't be that bad:confused3

On a separate note, we loved the BLT rooms and the kitchen for the studio looks great. If I was going to get a studio I would bring one of those plug in burners (had one in the college dorms) and a pan or two. We also loved the AKV rooms........for some reason I have no desire to stay there, can't explain why. It would be nice to get 5 in a 1 br at BLT or AKV......I do have to give DVC credit for one thing, each resort has something special about it that makes me want to stay there. However, just hanging out on the BW lastnite having a drink with my wife is really hard to beat. The kids also love the entertainers on the BW.

My understanding is that the THV's are the same distance from the main pool as congress park is. Has anyone verified?

I wish that the pool would have a food and drink option, especially since it is (or at least at this point seems to be ) more remote from the main areas. Can't wait to see the treehouses, though!:cool1:

DW, DD, DS and I stayed at the old Treehouse complex twice in early '80s. Those peacocks were very friendly and had no qualms about making their presence know after they left.:) CMs did lots of hosing down the decking.

We will miss them.

We are both ready to dial next Sunday.

When I called MS last week to ask some questions about THV, they said the distance is similar to Congress Park to the main area. I hope they are right because we don't really mind that walk. I will be on the phone next week for our Nov. vacation. We will be at SSR in a GV (can't wait) in late June so we will check it out then.

I hope so as that is not bad at all. It was hard to tell as they partial type maps and we didn't spend too much time looking. We have a few upcoming trips then probably won't head back until 2010 so I'm sure all the info will be out by then!

Thanks and if I remember correctly that is very similar to the map I remember seeing at SSR. They did have another bus stop by the pool. Also thanks for the link to the pics, it was cool reading about the old institute. Interesting to see what the reused for SSR and the atmosphere.
