Has anybody seen, or better yet, tried this rumored new lunch menu?

According the rumor, it was supposed to debut on Sunday, August 27th. Maybe they meant August 29th (?).

In any event, August is over.

So, are they serving new lunch items at Trail's End?

I went on Disney''s site today and, yes, the new lunch menu is listed (and is described as a la carte).

(From the Disney site):
Fill up at lunch at Trail's End Restaurant with selections from the new a la carte menu:

* Chili
* Fried chicken
* Pan-fried catfish
* Grilled pork chop
* Spicy grilled shrimp and andouille sausage
* Delicious desserts such as wilderness s'mores and a warm sticky bun sundae
* Vegeterian entr&eacu;te; available
* No sugar added dessert option available

I noticed that the waffles were missing from the list; but hopefully one of the (lucky) fiends who will be down this holiday weekend will play detective and let us know if the waffles are available!

I was talking to a few CM when we were down and they told us the lunch menu change was two fold.

1. people were asking for something other than buffet

2. better for dining plan

Don't know how much of this true, but I thought I would share info.

I have not yet enjoyed Chicken and Waffles, but do you know that there are whole restaurants devoted to this concept?

In Atlanta, Gladys Knight (yes, that Gladys Knight), has a chicken and waffle restaurant.

I kid you not.

Since Muddea's is apparently Famous, I'm surprised you hadn't heard of them.

So maybe a renaming of Trail's End is in order. How about Chip N Dale's Famous Chicken, Waffles and Cowboy Beans?

Don't be too sure of that. Just saw a Rachael Ray $40 a Day episode where she ate in a restaurant where they were rude to you on purpose, made you take your own order and bus your own table. It was PACKED!

Oh I'm not so sure. I routinely work with marketing companies and this stuff is at least as good as some of the crazy crap those monkeys fling at us on a regular basis.

Good idea to share a campsite especially if someone wasn't staying the night. But I found it much better to just rent a cabin which we did and loved it. Kindness goes a long way.

We ate there yesterday. Service was slow I think both the kitchen and waitstaff are trying to get into the groove. DH had the catfish and his plate was cleaned so I will assume it was good. I had the chicken but no waffles. Just couldn't do it. But I saw it delivered and the waffle was huge. 2 big pieces of chicken as well. My DS had the grilled chicken strips with macaroni and it was a hit. We all shared the sticky bun sundae.

I don't know if I would make a special trip there but it was alright. We had ridden our bikes over from WL but returned the bikes a the Fort Bike Barn after my DS was pretty much run off the road but all the triathalon runners preparing for Sunday's race. Not enjoyable at all. But that's for another thread...
