Boy am I happy!

Now, when I don't want to spent $9 for a hot dog at the pool, I can head on down to Trail's End and get me an $18 pork chop.

That better be a good pork chop.

What am I complaining about?

If I don't want to spend eighteen bucks on a pork chop, I can get myself a nice bowl of soup for $7.

There.

Something for everyone!

Even Chicken and Waffles (for the price of a nice steak at Outback)

Thank you Disney!

You won't see me around Trail's End so much at lunch time.

I guess the "Salad" on the menu means no more salad bar at lunch?
That's a bummer.

And I see they found another way to overcharge for a s'more. :)

You read my mind!

Pretty sure I can pack some Eggos, buy a GAG and make my own Chicken & Waffles for WAY less than $13+

I already have the REAL NH maple syrup packed in the TT.

Geez Louise!

Grilled porkchops w/all the fixin's at the KFK campsite for all 4 of us ....Under $15.00.

Our TE boycott shall continue...

Does that price include kungaloosh? That would make it a bit more cost-pleasing. :drinking1

We'll be there for dinner. I'll bring $15 and the beer.

And those chicken and waffles were sounding so good to me...until I saw the 13.49 price.

If my thinking is correct, for 13.49 I can get a waffle and probably two pieces of chicken. Or for approximately twice that (say ~$26) I can get a bucket of chicken (10 pieces), two sides, and 4 biscuits or corn bread.

I wonder if I get the GAG if they would substitute a waffle for my 4 biscuits? That way, I could enjoy the chicken and waffles, and have 8 pieces of chicken and 2 sides to feed my family. And instead of eating in the restaurant we would get to eat on the side porch like I prefer anyways.

By my account, for my family to eat at TE for lunch, making assumptions on what my DW and each DD would order, it would cost me about $75 with tip. That's kinda crazy for lunch. Even for Disney.

Furthermore, what's with the Fried Green Tomatoes for $16!!!

For 16 bucks, I want my meal to include something that once had a heartbeat. I don't want a meal consisting of 5 different types of vegetables and some Gouda. Those would be side dishes for me.

So the pencil pushers idea to fix a restaurant that no one was going to for an over priced lunch buffett was to stop the buffett and offer over priced cooked to order meals. The only thing they fixed was the wasted food from the buffett. $13.99 for an angus chili cheeseburger with sweet potato fries!?!?!? These brainiacs do realize this is a resort where the majority of the guests have brought along a full kitchen with them right? You can buy a box of 6 1/3lb angus beef patties, buns, hormel chili, cheese, onion, lettuce, tomato and frozen sweet potato fries at Walmart for less than $20 and feed 6 people. Idiots!

I was excited at first thinking we were getting a nice lunch place like my favorite - Roaring Forks at WL. I love going there for lunch. Nice selection. Oops, I guess that's not what we are getting. That's okay. I need the exercise in riding my bike over to WL for food. Why can't they get something so simple right? I don't think it's a hard concept for lunch. Oh, well I'll just continue on as I have been. Either cooking my own or eating in the parks which is slightly cheaper than eating at Trails End.

Genius!! I am SO trying this in November. As I said, there's already real maple syrup in the TT. ;)

Yeah, I don't think they could have gotten this one more wrong if they tried.

And it sure looks like they tried.

We just a stay at Wilderness Lodge (sorry, but I wanted free dining and we only had a week vacation so not worth the trouble to bring the popup) - and I don't understand why the prices are so much higher at Trail's End lunch than at Roaring Forks. I hate to say it, but I think Disney is missing the mark on this one. No way I'm paying those prices....

I so agree! I think the Disney decision makers have been in the Florida sun too long!:beach: Why would they think to offer such high priced lunches but not offer a quick-service area such as the Roaring Forks? If they want to offer high price lunches so be it, but at LEAST also give us a quick-service restaurant so we can make our own choice. (The extremely limited selection at the pool snack bar doesn't come close to counting as a quick-service location). On the bright side..I am sure no-one will have to wait long at all to get into the TE at lunch time.

that freakin pork chop better cut itself for that price...

I know they know we drink Heavily by looking in the recycling bends but Chicken and Waffle is the 3AM waffle house special. Man that sounds good think I might wake up the D/W to take me to town!

Looks like lunch will still be someplace else, anyplace else.

OMG, Do they have Fried Brain on the menu ????????:rotfl:
