New Trader Joe's - Pittsburgh (South Hills)!!

This is not a "what's good at Trader Joe's" thread.

Trader Joe's will be opening a new store on Route 19 in Upper St. Clair. For those local it'll be in the Pier One store site next to Chick-Fil-A. Upper St. Clair approved the two variances requested by Trader Joe's this past week at their meeting.

This'll be about 2 blocks from my house!

Now all we need is for Gov. Corbett to revise the laws to get rid of the state monopoly on alcohol sales and we'll be able to buy "2 Buck Chuck"!!

2 blocks is FANTASTIC! I seriously do ALL of my grocery shopping at TJ's.

We love going when we are in Columbus but we are in Pittsburgh all the time now for my sons appointments at the Childrens hospital...

I will definitely be google mapping it and making a visit next time we go up!!

It's right next to where the Chi Chis was. The Chi Chis was torn down a number of years ago and a small plaza put in with a restaurant and a dental spa or something (I forget). Next to that they build a Chick-Fil-A. On the other side of Chick-Fil-A is another small plaza with a Pier 1, a fitness store (I think) and the South Hills Nursery. Pier 1 will be moving and Trader Joe's will be taking over this plaza.

Definitely worth a trip if you're here (though you can't buy wine or beer at our Trader Joe's). There's actually quite a bit of new shopping over in East Liberty near the Trader Joe's. You won't be far if you're at the new Children's Hospital. Just go straight up Penn Ave from the hospital and it'll be on your left maybe 1-2 miles at the most.
