We were at the Mk last week & had just exited the HM.
There was a small group assembled by the gift cart near HM's exit.
They were led by a CM & were discussing the HM ride, the CM asked the small group a few questions about the ride ( the group consisted of about 6-8 people, mostly young adults/teens ). Everyone in the group had name badges on that said Virtual MK Insiders Tour, I haven't heard about this before (I'm sure that it's brand new , maybe even still being tested)The CM then handed each of them some kind of Madame Leota card. When a young boy asked the CM what was going on, she told him it was a tour & to inquire at the front of the park for more details. I forgot to look into this as I left, does anyone know more about this ?

Are you sure it wasn't the Keys to the Kingdom tour? We did that in 2000 and it was great.

Oh wait, you said you saw something that said VMK Tour? Hmmmmm, some investigation shall be required here.

This is definitely a new tour & I remember seeing name badges w/ "Virtual Magic Kingdom Insiders Tour" on them. I tried to eavesdrop on the conversation (they were discussing the HM attraction) & after each member of the group received a "Madame Leota" card of some kind they were off .From the looks of the group , I'd say this may be geared towards a younger tech. savvy age (teens).Hopefully we can get more info on this as I have had little luck searching on the net.

Ron: You are correct. There IS a new "VMK Tour". Paige in Polynesian concierge planning office mentioned it in an email to me the other day when I had asked her about VMK codes that are available in the parks. My DH is a huge VMK addict. LOL

Anyway, I emailed her last night after seeing your thread, and asked her if she had any specific info on it. When I get a reply from her, I'll post it here. I'm hoping she can get us in on this new tour next week while we're at WDW :)

P.S. You do know that there is a new sub-board here on the DIS, just for VMK?? :teeth: It's a sub-board of the Community Board. :)

:guilty: I know about it people on VMK go on it and get VIP pins -_- You take the tour and at the end of the tour they give you a bunch of codes and stuff for VMK it rocks i wish i was at WDW right now to go on 1. :confused3

My kids would love to do a VMK insider tour. We are booked for a family magice tour.
I just called disney tours and the girl I spoke to did not know anything about a VMK tour....she even had to look up what VMK was to begin with.
Has anyone had any luck finding information?

I was looking at the VMK site last night, and I swear it mentioned something about a tour at the parks on there. Unfortunately, I am at work right now and can't get on the site due to a firewall......

From Deb Wills weekly All Ears newsletter:

...from Chris White: There's a BRAND NEW, FREE tour that started June 27 -- the VIRTUAL MAGIC KINGDOM TOUR! To take advantage of this tour, you must visit the Main Street Cinema and pick up the Quest brochures -- as of July 1, only Frontierland, Adventureland, and Fantasyland are available. They coincide with the current "lands" available on Disney's new Virtual Magic Kingdom online game. There are questions in each land. You must find the answer and scratch it off on your Quest/Questions card. Then you return it to Main Street Cinema to get your virtual prizes for the online game -- trading cards with unique online codes. When you have finished all three Quests, you are eligble to sign up for the free (yes, FREE!) Virtual Magic Kingdom Tour, which currently occurs at 1 and 4:30 p.m. Sign up is in the City Hall. The tour was great. While my husband has played VMK since it was released in the Beta version, I knew very little about this game, but still enjoyed the tour. It lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. You are given information about the development/background of VMK and get to see a sketch book that your tour guide carries around. The cast member takes you on the Jungle Cruise, on your group's private boat... Your VMK guide asks you lots of VMK trivia questions on the boat. The person who answers the question correctly gets a virtual prize -- a card to use online. You are also taken to the Haunted Mansion and given the Quest card. You look for the answers as you ride the attraction. Finally, back at the cinema, you are given more virtual prizes and your tour guide shares some favorite spots on VMK. We had Jeff as our guide and he was absolutely fantastic! The cast members in the cinema also know everything about the game. This tour was lots of fun, and oh, let me say it again -- it's FREE!

We were at WDW last week, and my kids, who are avid players of VMK begged to go to the Main Street Cinema. There, they each received a brochure for Adventureland, Frontierland, and Fantasyland. There were questions to answer from each land. Some where easy, some more difficult, but we had to look for the answers. After correctly completing all 3 brochcures, each child returned, had their answers checks, and received a glow-in-the-dark VMK wrist band, and cards, with online codes (for their VMK characters) to received special objects, mouse ears, t-shirts, etc. You only have to complete 1 brochure to get the wrist band, and each brochure gets you several cards with online codes. If you complete all 3 brochures correctly, you get a free 2 hour VMK Tour, where you learn about the making of VMK, and some other Disney facts. Your guide will also ask you questions about VMK and you can earn more cards/codes for answering them correctly. This tour only started a week ago this past Monday, and is still in Beta test (like the online game). We had a great tour guide who also took us on the Jungle Cruise and the Haunted Mansion (skipping the lines). All is all it was lots of fun and I would highly recommend it.

i'm sure my son will want to do it..

thanks for posting...

well after you finish every mk quest you get a special code the code on back says type this code for a special vmk treat and it all so say's time date month and year. that is when you go to the park you can bring your family and cut lines and stuff on rides like splash mountain, haunted mansion, big thunder mountion, pirates, and much much more plus you get speical codes on special certain rides cool huh!! :cool1:

Dh and I did the VMK tour this past spring and it was great! Can't beat a free Disney tour! We got our brochures on Main Street in the AM and ran around Adventureland, Fantasyland and Frontierland answering them all. That was alot of fun too! Neither of us have children and there were only adults on the tour we went on. We toured through Main Street, Adventureland and Frontierland/Liberty Square and rode Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion and BTMRR and learned lots of trivia. Some of the info was the same as the Keys tour, but not all. Lots of fun and I would definitely recommend it!!
