New Braces? What are your opinions?
My name is Carissa and I am 13. This morning, I got my first pair of pastel light blue colored braces. I have had a little bit of pain today but i am wondering, if I run out of supplies to minimize the pain, what are good tools to use? I only have to have them on for a yr and 1/2. Plz if you feel comfortable in telling me your stories about when your going to get them, how you feel about them now, or even the craziest mistakes with them!

I have had my braces for a year now and your pain does go away. I will give you abit of advice, get wax for your braces. It is the best thing invent for braces.

I JUST got mine off yesterday, and the pain does go away. You could take like advil or something, but wax does wonders.

Putting wax in your mouth stops them from cutting the sides of your mouth and Advil would help too.

Also, don't break any of the rules. I tried to eat popcorn a few times and just got kernels stuck in my brackets nad my gums. Wax is amazing, especially if your orthodontist doesn't listen when you say the wires in the back are poking you. I had metal in my mouth for five years. It takes lots of patience and it does get better with time. It feels just as odd when you get them off again- my front teeth felt huge.

It All Happens With Singing Talent And A Little Bit Of Pixie Dust!

I tried one night this week to try the wax. it does work well. I found out a have this huge tooth looking canker sore inside my right cheek. My mom first thought it was a tooth but I happened to show her again this morning and she was a bit concerned. The bands in the back connect to a pointy tooth, poking me severely. Has anyone had that happened?

Did you try putting wax on that tooth? As I have got what your describe from my braces on my bottom lip all across and it is very painful. Put wax on those front teeth and with in hours my mouth was alot better.
