Hi
Like everyone else I have tried just about everything to loose weight. I really want this time to work. I think my biggest problems are I don't have any engergy and I am ALWAY hungry. Even 10 min after eating a huge meal I am hungry again. I try to eat friut and veggies ect. but most of the time the cookies and pizza ...... are the easist to grab. So that is what I tend to eat is whatever is easiest becuase I don't feel like making myself anything to eat. I have tried to not have any junk in the house but DH needs his oreos and brings home 3 or 4 bags at a time. When I talk to him about it he says that he is trying to teach me self control. Now he is joking (please don't flame him. He really is a great guy) but it dosen't help me having it around. I will do really well for about 2 or 3 weeks then I just seem to quite. It has now been two months since I tried anything and I'm feeling quite gross. Dose anyone have any suggestions of things they have tried and worked for them? Thanks.

:flower: Welcome Allison to WISH -- you have just found the bestest ever healthy lifestyle group of friend to support, inspire, motivate and encourage you.

I do WW (Weight Watchers) on my own, meaning I figure and count point from resources i have found (books, internet) but do not attend weekly meetings. I came very very close to joining but was advised but another very smart WISHer to save my money for my then-future WDW trip and use WISH in place of the WW group. It works for me -- you'll have to try and experiment to find what works for YOU!

I would encourage you to stop in your local library and pick up Dr. Phil's Ultimate Weight Solution. I have this book on CD and listen to it and find it very very real and helpful. While you're there, pick up a few other books on some eating plans you think may appeal to you.

then -- start by changing ONE thing. don't overwhelm yourself. baby steps will take you there, sometimes faster than big ones. I tend to get discouraged when I overwhelm myself with goals that are too much at once. Maybe start with drinking 64 oz of water everyday, or walking 4 days a week (however howlong!)

HANG IN THERE!! you can make the changes that will bring the results you desire!! Onward and downward!

Welcome!!

I agree with everything the previous poster said. Make your changes one at a time and they won't seem so overwhelming. I just started going to WW meeting and have my first weigh in on Thursday!!

I started by getting up 45 minutes earlier in the am and doing an exercise tape. Gives me lots of energy!! And I feel better throughout the day......

Pick something to change - one small thing.....how about drinking more water? Also go to the library or internet and research the various programs that are out there to decide which one is best for you. The oreo cookies wouldn't bother me at all but any kind of appetizer would.........you have to decide what is best for you.

Hang in there - baby steps!! Glad you joined us!!

Have a Magical Disney Day!!
Linda

Welcome to WISH!! I had tremendous success here a year ago when I was losing 55 pounds on Atkins. I reached goal and loved it!! (I am now back-losing 20 pounds!)

I agree with everyone. Research the plans and find one that you feel excited about. You can only enjoy success if you truly believe it is right for you.

Also figure out your schedule and what kind of exercise you like. Get moving and before you know it you'll look forward to that time for yourself!

Good luck and be sure to keep us posted--you have a great resource right here!!

Welcome to WISH! You have been given great advice already. I would add that your attitude will be a huge part in how you succeed. I would recommend that you look at this whole journey as one of making healthy choices in eating and activity. Stay away from the 4 letter d word. Don't think in terms other than how you will succeed and how you can make healthy choices for you.

Good luck to you. You will soon discover that the WISH is the best place you have found to assist you in your ups and downs along life's paths.

Come often, post lots! We need each other.

Thanks for all of the great information. Most of which I was doing a few months ago. I think what is going to help me the most is a support group. I am so glad I'm among friends. I know I alway do better with goals when I tell someone and therefore become accountable. So my goal for the next two weeks is to walk for 20 min 4 times a week. Whish me luck.
