I was directed here by some CBers.

I need to loose 20 pounds, I am diabetic and it is very hard to loose it once I gain it.

I work in an office so I don't move around much and when I get home, i am too tired to do anything else.

I NEED MOTIVATION!!!! And well, that is why CBers sent me here. To get the motivation and inspiration. :o

My question is about WW, how does it work? Just a general, is there any sites on the web that explain the system?

Hi! :)

I don't have any info on WW but I wanted to welcome you to W.I.S.H. and wish you all the best in reaching your goals.

You will definitely find a lot of support here and I'm sure someone is going to have some great answers for you. ::yes::

Welcome to Wish! My husband is type II diabetic and follows the Atkins way of eating. It has controlled his blood sugar and cholesterol.

I can't answer questions about WW but I just wanted to welcome you.

Thanks for the welcome. I tried Adkins, I gained weight with it.

I used to be a manager at GNC, and I know HOW to diet, lol, I just have NO motivation! And even though the motivation is in me, I just can't dig it out.

SOOOOOOOOO, maybe, just maybe, I can find it here. :)

Welcome to the WISH board!!

Motivation is a very personal thing. For me this time around I'm using other people. Everyone always says lose the weight for yourself. This time I made a list of why I wanted to lose weight and I look at it when I need to remind myself. For me it was to live to see my children married and to become a grandmother. I also wanted to avoid getting diabetes as I had gestational diabetes and my grandmother had adult onset. Therefore I have a pretty good chance of getting it. However, they say that exercise helps so I am out there moving everyday if I can.

I also need a visual motivator. This time I put stickers on the calendar (works for potty training doesn't it??) and my goal is to stay good for one month. Have a sticker on every day. I started this in July and I've had a sticker every day since then. This past Saturday I thought I was going to blow it but when I calculated all my floats (or flex calories) I think I was under. I did do some bike riding just in case.

The weight is coming off very slowly and sometimes I stay the same for two or three weeks and then wham I drop three pounds all at once. The key is to remind yourself often that it will happen. Make a realistic goal to lose the 20 pounds and if you need to change that goal as you go along that's okay too. At least you're trying.

New clothes, new hairdos, trips etc seem to also work as motivators so think of whatever might work for you and try it.

Guess what kind of stickers I put on my calendar daily??:smooth:

This month it is my friends (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto) that I'm going to be visiting with in just three and a half weeks.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Good luck and be sure to visit here often, especially when the going is rough.

Hi Lynn!

Welcome to WISH! Poke around the WISH boards, there is a lot of info here about WW, including point ranges, flex points, goal weight. There are also some wonderful websites with WW information! The best, IMO, is Dotti's website at Dotti's Weight Loss Zone . She has points for just about everything! ::yes::

I don't know how to get you motivated to exercise, but I can tell you I was in the same boat. SIt all day adn somehow I was still exhausted when I got home. After dinner I wouldn't do anything and then I'd go to bed Since I started going to Curves, Iactually do a little house work, gardening or scrapping after diner. It's WONDERFUL. I have SOOO much more energy. The kicker is, I CANNOT go home first. I just won't get out again. I go to Curves direct from work and I feel great. I have an exercise bike and various exercise tapes, bu thtat did not do it. I needed that little extra motivation of paying the money to kick me in the behind!

Try going to a gym or something for a week(sometime oyu can get a week or so free) and see how you feel.

Good luck with your journey!

I too want to add my Welcome. You are right you know. You have your motivation inside you and your knowledge of what you need to do.

The next part is taking a step. Any step in the right direction is a great start. Keep posting here and this will make you accountable to yourself. Some find that to be helpful as well. Just keep telling yourself you will keep making the steps necessary toward the healthy way as you search for that motivation to continue.

I am hoping that you can find whatever it takes to make it through to a healthier way of life. You can do it; yes you can!
