Hi,
We have a large trip coming up in April and one more family member decided to join us. Even though I have a two bedroom and two studios booked (boulder ridge) and could accommodate, I booked another studio at Copper Creek but had to waitlist one of the nights.

I set it to expire 31 days prior, but not sure if that matters at all? Is there a downside to setting the expiration to 7 days? The waitlist is set to replace the original reservation, so if I'm just adding one day I didn't think the points would go into holding. Or do all the points from the original reservation go into holding as if it was canceled?

Also if it doesn't come through, could they add him to another room mid-stay. I'm not sure that is even possible. Could his name be on both reservations?

Thanks for any info!

If what you want to end up with is less than what you have booked, then you have it cancel at 31 days. If it is the same or more, then you can set it for 7 days. Any changes within 31 days do result in holding points...however, when it is replacing something for the same or more points, its more behind the scenes and doesn't impact anything.

If you don't get his room for the extra night, I would just go to the front desk to add him for that night. It should not be a problem. I would not add him from now because it could cause an issue with his CCV room when he gets there..

Do you think I should have waitlisted just the one night? The waitlist is showing up as two nights but I already have the other nights --showing "booked" on my dashboard. (I think I did it all in one booking but I'm afraid its looking for all the nights to open up or does it know I'm just looking for the one night?). Thanks for your help!

Definitely wait list just the missing night. If it comes through, they can then merge the night together since its the same resort and room type. Waitlists are all or nothing and it won't fill until both nights show up.

And, if you didn't set it to replace the extra night, you will end up with a double room for the night already booked.

Yay. Waitlist came through yesterday for the one night. I was confused when I got the "Welcome Home" email until it clicked. Now will call to try to merge the reservations together. Thanks for the suggestion of wait-listing the one night.
