This summer we are going to Universal for the first time. We are staying onsite so we will have the express passes. For Disney we usually have a touring plan to avoid waiting in long lines. Is there any order we need to tour the parks to save time? Does the express pass let you tour in any order you want, or should we still hit the major rides first thing?

Considering you'll have express, I recommend going to FJ and HRRR first as they don't have express. You'll be fine with everything else.

I agree...hit the attractions at each park that do not accept Express but then you can tour at your leisure.

I always do Dueling Dragons first, because front row is the only way to do it and there's no express for that - express for that ride doesn't get you much anyway.

Harry Potter you can do via single rider and avoid a long wait if there is one. Although if you head right to Dueling Dragon's you can do that a few times and still get to Forbidden Journey without too long a wait.

DO the rides that do not have express pass FIRST..Particularly Forbidden Journey and Ollivanders wand show at Harry Potter( Dragon challenge and Flight of the Hippogriff take Express pass) and Rip Ride Rocket at Universal.
Pteranodon Flyers in the Jurassic park section does not take express pass either, but you have to have a child between 36"- 56" in order to ride it.They do not allow adults without children on it.

Dragon Challenge does have express, but it doesn't get you that far and it doesn't help get in the front row.

And unless you have kids or the wait is 5 minutes, I'd skip Ollivander's.
