New to Universal-help!

My dh and I have been to Universal years ago. We're taking our 11yr old ds and 9 yr old dd in September for the first time. What do we really need to know. What's most important? They are dying to see all things Harry Potter. We're going Sept 18-20 and staying offsite. Any tips? Thanks!

My first suggestion is to read through this forum. There are many similar threads about strategy when staying offsite.

My favorite suggestion is to be sure and bring your AAA card if you have one -- if you show it you will receive 10% off at most restaurants, food carts, and stores both at CityWalk and in the Parks. If you spend $100 on HP merchandise (and I think most do), you would save $10!

As for what you really need to know (other than damo's excellent suggestion to read through this forum), I would say have a plan to make sure everyone gets to ride the one thing that is most important to them -- everybody should get at least one turn on their expected favorite! And don't underestimate the reviving power of a sitdown lunch, particularly if you are starting your morning very early. Also not to be underestimated -- how wet you will get on the water rides at IOA. You will be soaked through!
