New to the boards

Hello. My family (DH and DS 5) are going to Disney in 38 days. My DH & DS have never been, and I haven't been since college (about 18 years). We're staying in the AKL and we have savannah facing rooms. I've seen around that you can request a specific type of room. How do you know what kind of room to request? I'd like one that isn't too far of a hike from the elevator to the room.

I've been reading these boards for a while now, and finally decided to join.

Welcome... a good way to find out about rooms is to pot on a resort thread. There are so many knowledgeable people here on the boards.
You are going to love it. I have always wanted to stay at AKL. I have heard wonderful things!

If you would like to be close to the elevators, just call central reservations and have them add that request to your reservation. It is only a request, but at least you have it in writing.
