Hi all. I will be making my first trip to SeaWorld Orlando next month and I am very excited. Unfortunately I will be alone because I will be on a business trip, but I made sure to set aside at least a day and a half (hopefully 2 full days) to see SeaWorld. I have been to the SeaWorld San Antonio, but it has been many years and I was hoping some of you would be nice enough to help me out with a few things.

I am not really interested in the theme park rides. I want to see as much as I can with the Killer Whales, Dolphins, and Beluga Whales. I understand that due to the tragic circumstances that happened in February the trainers are not allowed in the water, but is there still an underwater viewing area for the Killer Whales? Isn't this area located in or near the "Dine with Shamu" area? Is that experience even still available? I really would love to see the Killer Whales from the underwater viewing area. Also I have seen the special tours and experiences that you can pay extra for with Dolphins and Beluga Whales. I don't necessarily want to spend a small fortune, but I have no problem spending on a good experience like that. Would I be better off choosing an interaction package with SeaWorld or Discovery Cove?

Thank you for any help or tips you can give!

Due to the accident in February as you said, you are correct that currently trainers arent in the water with whales. However this may or may not change in the coming months once an investigation is over. Yes there is an underwater viewing area located behind shamu stadium. There is no dine with shamu experience going on right now again because of the accident in February. There is also still the Shamu show that takes place daily where you can see the whales.

There is also the dolphin show, Blue Horizons and a dolphin petting and feeding area. For $7 you can feed the dolphins. As far as interactions go, at Discovery cove, you swim with dolphins. There are no beluga whales at Discovery cove, The beluga interaction is at Seaworld and is always something ive wanted to do but havent gotten the chance. Either one im sure would be a great experience.

And be aware that you possibly will not be able to see a Believe or Shamu Rocks show...

They usually stop these shows as soon as a new calf is born and Katina is expecting hers in October...

But even if there is no show... Watching a newborn calf is soooo cute!! :goodvibes

Let´s hope the best for Katina specially after the 4 deceased whales in the last 3 month :sad2:

She is not the whale that died this week is she?

No that was the original baby shamu that died. Katina is due any day now.
And as far as the show goes, they put on a "baby show" which is a show revolving around the baby swimming around with its mother. A few short clips of the birth are played. This lasts usually for a month. But it is very cool seeing a newborn baby whale.
