Are the rooms in the mansions and bayou buildings decorated the same? If not...please explain. I'm having trouble deciding where I want to stay. Thanks!!

They are completely different. The rooms in the bayou section are more woodsy looking. The rooms in the mansion are fancier - floral quilts and more ornate furniture. I prefer the bayou section but many like the mansions. They are both nice!:thumbsup2

We stayed in Alligator Bayou, building 27. It was a little bit of a walk but what a beautiful walk it is! While the mansions have beautiful, manicured gardens with fountains and some gazebos, AB is wooded, with tropical and woodland trees and shrubs. The quiet pools are tucked into little alcoves and there are always lots of little bunnies, duck, chipmunks etc. wandering the paths with you.

If we were to go back, I'd opt for AB again. I get enough of the mansion splendor just walking around the grounds....

Depending on how full the resort is, you might not have a choice. The mansions do not have the trundle beds, so they are for families of 4 or less. The alligator bayou have the trundle beds so they are for families of 5. We requested about 4-5 buildings for our stay back in May and were put in mansions b/c there was only 3 of us. Just keep that in mind.

We stayed in Magnolia Terrace & loved it. Great location! Close to 2 bus stops, close to the food court, close to the main pool & a quiet pool with laundry.

We requested AB but got the mansion. It was ok. They were just as nice and probably closer. LOL! AB is more woodsy and country looking which is more my taste. The mansions are decorated more like my MILs house!:lmao: You know....iron rails, floral bedspreads, gold mirrors, etc. But it was just as pretty.

We love POR! AB is our favorite, but we've been in Magnolia Terrace before and liked it alot. I never thought I'd like Alligator Bayou, but it's my favorite part of any resort in all of WDW! Very woodsy, lush landscaping, little water areas, bridges, small wildlife....It's so pretty. The rooms are much prettier in person than in the pictures. You just have to be there to really get how great the AB section is. We are a family of five, so we generally have no problem getting AB. And just because you may not be a family of 5 doesn't mean they won't put you there. With that said, I think you'll like it wherever they put you. I think POR is as close as you can get to a deluxe without being a deluxe!:)

When we first originally booked with POR, I had requested a mansion closest to the marina, food court, and busstops. When we checked in we were given Partierre Place which is far from everything....dragging two small kids after long days at the parks was not going to cut it (we were placed in one of the wings and it would have taken us a good 10-15 min walk to get to the busstop or marina). The 5 mins that we were in the mansions (called to switch rooms) I thought it was nice, very cozy and flowery. We were then placed in AB bldg #14 which was close to everything that we wanted to be close to and at first I didn't think I would like it, but after going inside and looking around, I loved it more than the mansions. My DH was a lot happier because he thought the mansions were too frilly for him and the AB was just up his alley....outdoorsy.

Does anyone have any pics of the rooms in POR, both mansion and bayou areas?? Also, what are the best buildings to stay at in each as far as being close to bus stops, main buildings, ect.? Help!!

Just left POR sunday. Stayed in AB bldg 36. It was the fartherest building possible from the main bldg and food court. The room was nice enough. But it's still just a hotel room with two double beds and a tv though. I had a parking lot view so I had to walk to enjoy any lanscaping. POR in itself was nice but way to big and crowded for my taste. The food court was packed each time I chanced eating there. I've already booked to go back to POFQ next year. You guys can have POR I was totally disappointed there.

Hi neighbor... we just checked out of AB 38 on sunday.. I had luck with the food court and the walk to everything and being on the second floor wasnt great. I have to in strollers so dragging sleeping kids up a flight of stairs in strollers wasnt great at the end of the day. I should of went back after we chcked in to try and get a first floor room.

We went to FQ on sunday to go swimming after we checked out.. we also ate at the food court there earlier in the week. Be waned the FC is a lot smalled than at riverside.
