We've never gotten into the pin trading before as my kids were pretty young and were content to just do the rides. But on our last trip in May, both of them were given a pin by a CM. I explained to my DD how it worked, so now she's excited about getting started. We've got a total of 3 pins - WOO HOO! - and we're going back in October. I need to get her a lanyard - she's a HUGE Tinkerbell fan, so I know she's going to want that purple TINK one, but my real question is this. How much do the pins usually run in the park? I see bunches on Ebay, but not knowing how much they usually are, I'm not certain what's a good deal. Thanks for your help.

The pins run from $6.50 for flat ones (with no raised sections or engraving) to $8.50 for ones that have more than one level, have spinners or other moving parts. Limited edition ones are either $8.50 or $10.50 (just paid $10.50 for the DL 49th b-day pin and $10.50 for a DL AP holder exclusive Olympic pin). Prices for pins are the same whether it's WDW or DLR.

I've been getting some really good deals on pins on Ebay--even with shipping & handling included, I've been paying less than $6.50.

Last year was the first year my kids (and I) got into the pins. My daughter actually traded a pin, and then regretted the trade. Lucikly the CM was nice and traded back. We had to go back through the line to see the characters in Mickey's Toon Town (where she had traded the pin).

I mostly bought last year, but I did trade for two pins. One was a US flag Star with Mickey that said US. The other was a calendar month pin -November with Buzz for a year we had went before. I also got two of the Mickey Birthday pins last year dated 11/18/04 since we were there during that time. I have no desire to get rid of the ones I have. I'll just buy more to trade.

Also, some of the lanyards come with several pins to trade. It's a pretty good deal.

Is there a site on line that tell you how to put together a really nice pin collection? I was thinking of trying to get some sets or complete editions. How about the reallly old pins?

were excited to pin trade too. i got db(brother 12) a lanyard with a pin for christmas. then i had received a fantasia pin set from bvhe several years ago, but had no idea what to do with them so i held on to them. he now has all those and is excited to start trading.

Thanks guys! DD is turning 7 on this trip, so this will be fun for her to have something new to do for her birthday trip. DS is only 3, so he's not going to care about these pins, but knowing DD, she'll have one side for her pins and one side for his pins. Thanks again for your help.
