New to Fort Wilderness--fill me in

I want to know all about the things there are to do at Ft. Wilderness. I'm not a camper--but am staying at WL--but want to check out Ft. Wilderness. What is involved in the campfire program? How's (and when's ) the hayride? Where is the Hoop De Doo--and what is it like? Etc.....

I asked on the Resort Board, and someone mentioned that you all were really the FW experts.

There is alot to do at FW! The campfire program is held nightly. There is a singalong, and Chip and Dale make an appearance. Then they play a Disney movie at dark.
The Hoop Dee Doo has two shows per night, at Pioneer Hall. I'm not sure how often they have the hayride, but someone here will know more.
If you plan to spend a day at FW, see if you can rent a golf cart. It's a great way to see the resort.
Don't forget to check out the petting zoo! And stop by both trading post, they are really cute.

We just got back on Saturday and also saw:
- Hay Rides
- Horse drawn carriage rides
- Bike rentals
- Canoe Rentals
- Paddle boat rentals
- Mini-power boat and Pontoon boat rentals
- Horse back riding
- Petting Zoo

The hayrides are held nightly at 7pm and 9:30pm. The cost is $6/adults and $4/children.

don't forget the hiking trails, fishing,2 pools.
and we can't forget the rocking chairs.
and those nightly walks along the beach watching the fireworks.

FW has two pools for the use of their registered guests. Because you are staying at WL, you won't be able to use them (no pool-hopping); however, you will be sure to notice that they aren't as nice as the one at WL so doubt you'll feel like you are missing anything.

You are free to attend the campfire, visit the beach/walking trails, gift shops and the petting zoo (all free for WDW resort guests). With a little cash, you are also free to rent fishing equipment, golf carts, bikes, boats, ride horses, carriage rides, hay ride, attend Hoop-de-Do Review, eat at the Trail's End Buffet or quench your thirst at Crockett's Tavern.
