I bid on some vouchers on ebay and I am currently the high bidder. Today the seller emailed me and asked if I'd like to purchase additional PH's not listed on ebay.He asked me to respond to his email address directly not through ebay. I'm not going to purchase them nor am I going to respond but the email from ebay begins with:

If this email is an offer to sell an item without winning it on the eBay Web site (including "second chance offers" sent through this email system) please do not respond to the sender. These "off-eBay" transactions are unsafe and not covered by eBay purchase protection programs.

I've never bid on anything before so I don't know if this is a common practice. What I would like to know is should I report him? I really would rather not but what if it is a scam. I also wouldn't want him taking advantage of someone else. Any thoughts would be appreciated

My guess would be that he's not trying to scam you, but rather make money w/o paying e-bay fee's. I'd just ignore it.

I would also ignore it. For one thing, I wouldn't want to jeopardize the auction (or the way he handles it)if you do indeed win. If you really feel compelled to report him, I myself would wait until I had my vouchers in hand first.

I buy often additional stuff off people where I first buy on eBay. I also sell to many of my ebay clients (although I don't send them a note through ebay, but wait until they get in touch with me) off ebay. I usually go by the ebay feedback and if they have had no problems, I make a decision based on that.

I will say though, that I have never seen a voucher that is a good deal, once you bid and pay shipping on eBay. I'll also say, after this next trip, I plan on selling my leftovers on ebay..since I'd clear a lot more money than I would save, using them on my May trip. People are way over paying on eBay for what they will be able to get with them. I like the vouchers when they are about $11 total, but just if I was planning on getting a drink and dessert anyway in the parks, or for use at Beaches or Peppermarket. Just my own opinion.
