I hope this is okay to post here!

I rented points for the first time for our spring break 2026 trip! This is our first ever DVC trip and our first time staying deluxe.

Any tips, advice, anything at all for a newbie? I am not sure what perks DVC guests get, or if I am even entitled to any since I am just a renter?

We are staying at Copper Creek (travelling with friends who are DVC members there).

Thank you for helping this Pop Peasant out! :goodvibes

Congrats you should love it,,wonderful resort.
So no DVC perks,,,not even all DVC get perks. That is another thread.
Just remember, room requests need to be done by the points holder.
Enjoy

Since you'll be staying Deluxe, you will be able to take advantage of Extra Evening Hours. So that is an extra perk that you don't get at Pop, although it has nothing to do with DVC really.

Thank you!

Are we able to do the extended evening hours as a renter?

Something I've wondered about renting points (and I think may be relevant to you too). Does making dinner reservations or other 60 day out reservation options work differently when you rent points?

As others have pointed out because you are staying in a Deluxe category resort you will be eligible for the the Extended Evening Hours on Mon & Wed nights.
You of course will be able to also get into the park 30 minutes early as all disney hotel guests can.
You will also have access to free laundry machines.
If you are staying in a studio you can visit the machines on the 4th floor.
If you are staying in a 1, 2 or 3 bedroom or cabin the machines will be in your room.

Some of what we considered ‘perks’ of DVC when we first started renting points:

Kitchenette in the studios, with sink, microwave, toaster, refrigerator, paper towels, and better supply of coffee/tea items.

Free laundry rooms - usually not far from your DVC room. Plus many times I’ve seen other owners leave soap and softeners for others to use, and have left some behind myself.

DVC helps give a stay more ‘comforts of home’ feeling than cash rooms.

How often have you been to WDW? Are you set there?

our first time staying deluxe.

So let me tell you about the secret entrance to rides you get now. Just kidding this is going to be a treat and you likely will only want to rent DVC moving forward.

Essentially most everything is exactly the same except for laundry rooms and extra night hours 2 times per week.

Ask them if they are direct member or resale members. This only matters because if they are direct members they can get discounts on restaurants/merch when they are with you. It doesn't cost them anything to apply their membership discount.

You can get 3d room walk throughs for your specific room if you look. You can also find tons of walk throughs of the resorts and rooms as well on Youtube.

Really the only tip is realize you are at a great resort so personally I wouldn't do open to close in the park. Take an afternoon at the resort for a break and such.

No the 60 day reservation is 100% connected to your MDE date for a stay. So as long as you linked that to MDE (which you have to do as a DVC member as well) you will be able to book at 60+10 for that stay.

The main difference with renting DVC points vs paying cash directly through Disney, is you won't get housekeeping. They will come in and empty trash every day, but won't change out towels or clean the room unless you're staying at least 4 nights.
