Just waiting for the paperwork for Boardwalk Villas. Hopefully, it'll go through without a hitch and they won't exercise their ROFR. I'm looking very forward to being able to walk to Epcot.

Years ago, I thought this unattainable so this is a dream for me. I think I realized recently that although I could go anywhere in the world, I really do enjoy going to THIS WORLD. :rotfl2: (And I don't care what my friends say or think about this.) :rotfl:

There's nothing better than being able to walk to Epcot or DHS. And as half a couple with no kids that goes to WDW twice a year, I say who cares what anyone else says!!! ;)

You may find people every way that don't get it. :confused3 This is our Vacation Home!:dance3: They are just jealous they can't come with us, and I really don't care to share.:thumbsup2

LOL.... yeah. And the ones mocking us or shaking their heads are the first ones to ask about the availability when they want to go down, eh? :rotfl2:

Congratulations and here is some pixiedust: that things go quickly. I just passed ROFR for my BWV contract in about 14 days so things seem to be moving quick.

My BLT contract I am selling passed in less than one week. I am sure you will pass without issue!

How much less did you offer than the DVC asking price? Did you buy direct? I am looking for the best deal out there!!!
Any help would be appreciated:):cheer2:

I am in the process of buying BWV and paid $55/pt. It was listed at $60 so I offered $52/pt but with the seller covering 2011 MF's (even though I was getting 2011 points). They countered with $55 and we agreed.

I did put in at least 3 offers on other contracts listed in the mid 60's and those were all rejected. I knew what I had in mind and just kept trying until I found an owner who was willing to accept what I wanted.

It took about a week and a half.

Good luck!

Well, my Boardwalk ... which has now been sent to Disney for ROFR, was $65 a point for 100 points. It comes with 100 just banked points and next year's 100 points. And no MF's until next September. I didn't bother haggling with the price since small contracts like 100 points seem to be on the rare side for BWV.

I'm buying through the Timeshare Store.

That sounds like a great deal, keep me posted if it goes through! What is the buy in price as well?

Good luck to you! We are also waiting to see if we pass ROFR (for VGC). We can't wait for our first "Welcome Home" after looking into DVC since 2007. (Kicking myself for not doing it sooner, but better late than never, right?)

I don't want to hijack this thread but I just passed ROFR on a March UY for 350 BCV contract. It came with 350 banked points from 2010. Plus almost all the points for 2011.

I was thinking of banking the 2011 points but was concerned that my UY would mess that plan up. I want to travel in January 2012. I could use the 2010 points for that vacation and then still have 700 points to use in 2012, right?

How does UY affect the use of my points if March is my UY? Does it affect banking dates?

Yes that is correct, you can use 2010 banked points for Jan. 2012 trip. Those banked points are good until Feb. 28, 2012. You would then have 350 banked 2011 points (good until Feb 28, 2013) and March 1 2012 you would get another 350 points so yes a total of 700, but in reality could borrow from 2013 points and have 1050!

UY does not effect "use" of points it is just when points are deposited into your account. Your banking deadline is Oct 31, I believe, as long as you bank your points before that date you are good. Once points are banked they cannot be returned to current year, so if you bank your 2011 today, then decide you want to make a last minute trip in in November 2011 you would not have access to those points until March 2012!

Still waiting ... I actually don't expect anything until September but getting anxious. LOL

Question: Can you pay the annual MF's by credit card?

I believe you can, you can also have out taken out of a checking account once a month, spreading the cost out over the year.

If you want to pay in a lump sum, then yes, you can do that. You are billed in Dec, they are due in January, but you are given until Feb 15th to pay without a penalty.

If you want to pay monthly, it has to be auto deduct from a checking account.

I joined last weekend. I did se their financing and got approved for the lowest rate. It is still high in my opinion. The guide told me that banks are not giving out loans and I would not find anything lower. I paid the asking price and got each point for 100.00 each. No incentives, except he did try telling me that they are normally 120.00 a point. I think we will be happy going on vacations through out the year at Disney!

I think you did get an incentive. Which property did you buy, and how many points? You can see a good list of current incentives at dvcnews.com.

I remember years ago sitting at the Big River Grille or walking on the boardwalk and looking up at people sitting on their boardwalk view balconies. I so wanted to be them! And now I am...and soon you will be too. Enjoy.
