We have been to Disneyworld many times but never Disneyland wo have a dvc and are thinking of making a trip in May of this year is this possible and any tips on character meale and what not to miss. It will be DH myself DS 3yo and ds 1yo.

Thanks for any help

May is a great time to go. The weather is nice, and the crowds are light.

-My biggest tip would be-stay on Harbor Blvd. Then you can walk back for naps, etc.. You dont have to worry about catching a shuttle, or a long walk back to the hotel after a long day.

-We did Goofys Kitchen. It was lots of fun, lots of character interaction, and great food!

-Do 5 days if you can. That puts you at a nice pace, you shouldn't have to miss anything, but you won't have to rush around crazily either.

-Don't miss....Fireworks! Parades! I would say Fantasmic, but it might be scary for your age of kids.

Have fun!!

First, you should probably make sure there are rooms available for you to use your DVC. May is filling up quickly. The 50th is really bringing in the crowds.

For the character meal, you might want to do a search. There are tons of threads about them. The basics of it are:

Goofys: its at the disneyland hotel. They have brunch and dinner. It is buffet style. You'll see Goofy and other various characters. We saw Goofy, Max, Donald, Aladin, and Snow White. It normally gets great reviews. We were a bit disappointed. The character interaction is not as good as I've had at other places.

Minnie and friends at Plaza Inn: Located on Main street inside DL. Breakfast only. Its a served buffet- so, its all you can eat, but someone dishes your plate. Some people feel this type service takes too long. We like it, it means other guests arent touching or sneezing on our food. You will see Minnie and a range of others- reports have been Pluto, Daisy, Pooh, Tigger, Fairy Godmother, etc. Varies from day to day, like Goofys. This is my personal favorite. We've had great interaction at this meal.

Princess meal at Ariels: At DCA. Lunch or dinner. Its a table sevice meal, with a set menu. You have a choice of soup or salad, entree and dessert. You'll see various princesses- Ariel (with legs!), Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, etc.

Lilo and Stitch: at PP hotel. Breakfast only. Buffet or menu service. Lilo, Stitch, sometimes Minnie, Pluto, etc. I've heard the interaction is great! Drawback, unless you are staying at PP, its a bit of a walk.

Chip and Dale at Storytellers: At the GC hotel. Breakfast only. Buffet or menu service. Chip, Dale, and other "woodsy" characters, such as Koda from brother bear, Meeko, etc. The food here gets great reviews. The interaction is more mellow then other meals. Seems to be a good choice for shy children.

Things not to miss: Fireworks. Aladin show in DCA. The rides in fantasyland- they are the original rides, and shouldnt be missed! The 50th movie with Steve Martin is a must do as well.

We might also be taking a trip to DL in May on points... I am calling Monday to see what is availible!!

We cant wait!
