Hi everyone. I am new to planning Disneyland and a friend asked me to help her. I wondered what you all thought the crowds might be like next week (Tuesday). They are just going to DL, not DCA. Also, does the no-late-FP rule apply to DL too? Do you even need it there? Thanks from a DL newbie!

Ok, 1st off, encourage your friend to get a park hopper. Absolutely ZERO reason not to. Unlike WDW, DCA is about 100 yards away. You can walk from the farthest end of DL to the farthest end of DCA (barring crowds) in 10 - 15 minutes. 5 if you run. Look it up on google maps. The cost difference really is minimal (mostly).

The crowds next week will be low if there are no spring breakers yet. Mouseplanet has the crowds this week at 2 - 3 out of 10 during the week until Friday when it goes to 6. I suspect next week will be similar unless there are spring breakers. Our schools don't have SB for a couple of weeks yet but that doesn't mean anything.

Good luck!

Yes, Disneyland is planning to enforce the no=late-FP rule too. It will be interesting to see if they're lenient or nazi about it. MousePlanet is speculating that they may enforce it in Carsland only (when it opens.)

Whether or not you need a FP depends on the crowds. We've been there on days where it was totally unnecessary. Tuesdays are usually less crowded than weekends. Two days ago the crowd forecast was a mere 3/10. Next week doesn't look too bad for conventions in Anaheim so your friend should be good to go.

And, no, DLR has not changed late FP acceptance like WDW did this week. So you cna use them late at DLR for the time being.

Even on low crowd days you'll want to grab FP's for the more popular rides.

Space Mountain is often 1st to run out of FP's and have long lines even on slow days. Space is FAR superior to WDW's version!!

Indiana Jones is probably 2nd with Splash Mountain a close 3rd for long lines. Lines at Splash often dissipate late at night especially if its cool out. FP's can also be useful at Big Thunder.

If you can, get a hopper since the two parks are only 5 minutes apart by walking.
