Well first trip as an adult & dont really remeber my trip as a little kid. We are going Feb 6th-11th & staying at the GCH! We have 5 day hopper tickets. We have reservations at the Blue Bayou Thursday night for dinner & Sat. morning at Goofy's Kitchen for Breakfast. Nothing else really planned. We want to see the parades what is the best time & Day? I see the Electric parade is Friday & Saturday with only one time but the other parade in Disneyland has 2 times. Which is best? Also any other great advice for first time Disney visitors. It with be Me, my Husband 2 kids (6 & 8) & my Inlaws. I have been reading LOTS of post & everyone has some great info
Thanks

Welcome to the DIS!

Sounds like you have a pretty good plan so far. Considering you have 5 days in the park and Feb is a low crowd period, I have no doubt that you will see everything that you will want to.

Almost always the second parade is less crowded than the first. Any of the days would be fine for the DL parade. I do recommend that you see the Electric Parade on Friday night because Saturdays are always more crowded than Fridays.

When visiting on the weekends, I highly recommend showing up to the gates at least 20 min in advance. It helps beat the crowds coming for just the day.

Some random tips re. GCH...

1. Ask for a room not too far from the elevator. Some rooms (like those with Downtown Disney view) require a looooooong walk. I prefer the courtyard view over downtown Disney and of course theme park is best of all.

2. Request bunk beds for the kids at GCH. Not guaranteed, but I've gotten them both times I've asked. My boys love them.

3. Whitewater Snacks at GCH is a great place for fast and not so expensive meals. Breakfast burrito is substantial and tasty way to start the day.

4. Storytellers Cafe has a nice character breakfast if you like Chip, Dale and Brother Bear. We like it :)

5. The Hearthstone Lounge at GCH has good espresso drinks, if you need some caffeine in the morning.

Happy vacationing!
