Hi all, i mostly lurk on this board but have posted a few times..
I have a question for you all and all replies are welcome ..

Have you ever dated a co-worker ??

My ex left 4 yrs ago and i am finally set in my life enough to think about dating . There is a guy at work - Now i do NOT directly work with him, we work in 2 different buildings in 2 total different department have no work in common but are in the same large company - ok that said I really like this guy.. He is funny and smart , has his own house ( i have my own too ) he has a full-time job has car(s) that run, can fix them should they breakdown. We like alot of the same type of things far as i can tell so far . bowling , scary movies, funny jokes and comedy sitcoms..
He seems to enjoy my company ( came over to a party i had for my birthday and house warming a few weeks ago ) then we went to the movies ( however he brought his younger brother along as he was in town for the weekend ) and now we are going to meet for pizza and drinks ( just us two , i am 99% sure ) tomorrow night. I am a little nervous because i really do like him - he is younger then me (he = 27, me =32) he has not been married before and doesn't have kids ( me yes on both ) It doesn't seem to bother him though.

I guess i have just made myself feel better by putting it in writing , he is great and if something happens it shouldn't affect our work as its not like we are seeing each other daily

thanks < i would like to hear what you all have to say .. Michelle

If you were seeing each other daily/working directly with each other, I would give you a resounding "NO!!!!!!!!!", but two different buildings, not working directly might be okay.

As for the younger man part, what's wrong with that??? ;)

I am 34, my fiancee' is 32. :)

No problem............GO FOR IT. If you don't have direct contact or similiar chains of responsibility, I'd say put the pedal to the metal.
Of course, in such a situation you ALWAYS have to first consider the downside; does gossip in the company bother you??? Is he someone who can be trusted????

Hee Hee the younger part is nothing to me but thought younger men and older women might be.... I think younger = trainable !!!

Thanks - that i what my best friend said too but i want to see what other people thought.. :bounce:

Yes, several different ones. It takes a certain level of maturity to be able to handle it, I think, in the event that things go sour. On a happier note, I met DH at work and my mother met my step-father at work. We have been married 9 and 23 years respectively.

Best of luck to you. :)

BTW, DH is younger and NOT trainable. I love him anyway. :)

Especially since you are in different buildings and all that I would go for it. I know many people at where I work who date and we see nothing wrong wiht it because we are such a big company with many different groups/locations.

HI all , yes he is mature for a younger man , very responsible , very family oriented , I find so far he is trustworthy . I guess I was basicly just asking for permission to have fun .. sometimes its hard to do when you are a single mom as you need to be the responsible one . if anything serious starts to happen i will just have to lay down the rules of dating a single mom ( like if it get serious , kids are part of the package and things like that )
thanks anyone else got tips or advise.. Michelle

Eros, I usually ignore your obvious attempts to gain attention, but I have to admit this one has me

ROTFLMAO!!!!! :p

Tigerbear, it's not attention that I seek. I just want the DIS RIGHTEOUS to say a prayer for me in Church    .........

As long as you're not in the same department and neither of you supervises the other, I say go for it! LOTS of people meet their spouses through work, my brother and SIL among them.

Just enjoy his company and take one day at a time. :)

And you're wise to put your kids first, but you deserve to have a life too. :)

Consider it done.

Or were you being SARCASTIC?????

No sarcasm, JTB :D :D . I need all of the prayers that I can get; it's the price that one must pay for being a "serial sinner"
:( :( :( :( :( ..........

Michelle, Marie and I met at the company we both worked when we were in our 20's. 31 years of marriage and we are still going. :) Good luck. :sunny:

This may be news to you, Sweetie, but they are mistaken. We are ALL sinners.

I'd definitely go and have fun. I'm sure you deserve it. I met DH at work where I was his supervisor. We've been married 13 years.

I have never dated a coworker while I was working with them. However, my current DBF was a security guard at the mall that I used to work at, but at that point we were just good friends. Go for it :)
