Hi everyone. Well, I am literally a Disney Newbie. This is my first time to the boards and I'm planning my very first Disney Vacation. Neither my DH or I have ever been and we want our DS to experience this as a child. We also decided to take along his mother and my father(he and my mom were there in the early 70's), so we are looking at a wide range of ages and interests.

I'm looking forward to meeting all of you and getting as many tips and any advice you can give. We aren't going til Dec.2010, but I am a strict believer in planning early and looking at it from all angles, so the earlier the better for me!

:welcome: :welcome: :welcome: to the DIS. You've come to the right place to get lots of info, hints, help, etc. Happy planning. :cool1:

Welcome and congrats on planning yoru first trip!!! :wizard: There is SO much planning to do...and never too early. After all, reservations for your trip to dine are done at 180 days before....you need to be planned, especially if you want to eat certain places, etal. Have fun!!! But be warned, this site is VERY addicting!!:lovestruc

Thanks for the warm welcomes! I'm DEFINITELY planning on staying on property. From all the research I have done so far, I think the cheapest and best way(at least for me) is to do it all myself as opposed to package deals. I cannot believe all the sites and resources there are out there for Disney planning...and I am loving every minute of it!

2 questions that I hope someone can answer.

1) How far in advance can I purchase my tickets for Disney? If I were to purchase them in 2009, would they be valid in 2010?

2) I would like to book the hotel as far in advace as possible, but according to the WDW site, they are only acceptong reservations up to Sept.2009. If I were to call, would I be able to make reservations for 2010 or would it be the same story?

TIA. You guys are great!

:welcome: to the DIS boards!!!

I remember you from my Newsies thread. Thanks for joining the discussion!! :) I hope you're having a great time on the DIS.

1) I'm not completely sure about that. Hopefully, one of the other DISers will have an answer.

2) It'll probably be the same story. Just to be sure, try calling the hotel you plan to stay at and ask them how far in advance you can book a room. Usually, you're able to book a room a year in advance.

Hope this helps!
