New Ticket Upgrade offer- could AAA be cheaper w/o the code?

Hi everyone,

I was really excited about the free ticket upgrade until I was reading in a post that since we're already getting a discount w/ AAA package then the free ticket upgrades might not apply (since I'm not paying rack rate). Is this true? I thought that I read that discounts could apply to AAA packages but maybe I'm just wrong. I emailed my agent today and asked her to request the discount but maybe I jumped the gun? This would be the first time we used a code so any advice would be great.

Yes I just posted this on the other thread but my AAA agent said that if I want the package with free hopping and waterparks I would have to pay rack rate. I would just rather save the money than hop. We don't plan on water parks anyway so I just kept my ressie the same.

This happened to us in May. Yes, if you want to get the new "free" ticket upgrade then you'll have to pay rack rates. We were told that Disney would only honor 1 discount or the other. We were planning to get park hoppers anyway, so we received free water parks and more. Our total bill was the same either way, so we upgraded our tickets and "lost" the AAA discount, but paid the same anyway.

Ask your AAA travel agent to calculate the total cost each way and compare the difference.

I got too excited also. But hey I look at it this way I still saved money on the room rate. I wasn't planning on hopping anyway.

That's what we did. I did save $20 though from my original AAA ressy
