From the WDW Website:

The 4-Park Magic Ticket is the best way to experience Walt Disney World theme parks, with one admission to each of the 4 theme parks for 4 days. Tickets may not be used to enter the same park more than once, and must be used within 14 days of first use or by May 26, 2017.

Interesting to say the least - I guess numbers are softer than they want to admit. The ticket works out to $279 before tax.

This is pretty much the same as the Florida resident ticket, however, it's much more expensive. However, it's quite the discount I believe off a normal 4 day ticket.

Interesting, I believe Universal wants to go to or will be going to a 3-park ticket when volcano bay opens so this matches up with that.

Interesting the timing with Universal's new ticket announcement -

Universal Orlando began selling three-day tickets including its new water park Tuesday for between $245 and $295.

A three-day ticket for Volcano Bay along with Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure costs $245 for one park per day. One that allows you to hop between parks on the same day costs $295 – almost $100 a day. Children younger than 10 get a $10 discount.

A 3-Park 4-Day Park to Park Ticket costs $305.

The tickets are available for use starting June 1.

Not really a huge discount of what you'd pay for Disney parks. Two theme parks and a water park would be about $250 per person

So the regular non-park hopper 4 day tickets are $325 per person, versus this new option which is $279? So you save $46, but lose the option of taking an afternoon break and then returning to the same park? I'm not sure I would be willing to make that sacrifice...it would be hard to do a full MK day (open to close) without a break.

Plus you have no flexibility in which parks you visit? Meaning you couldn't do two days at MK and skip HS, for example.

I guess if you were buying enough tickets for a family, it might make more sense. It's hard for me to think like that because I'm only ever buying tickets for my husband and I. Saving $92 wouldn't be worth it to us.

I don't see or read into anything that says you can't leave the park. The only restriction is not going to the same park twice.

I think this is to get people to go to DHS during construction and out of MK.

I believe you can enter the same park on the same day. But you can't use it to go to EPCOT twice, MK once, AK once, and skip DHS. It's only valid for one day's entry into each park. I agree the savings aren't worth it for my wife and I since it's just the two of us, but I can see how if you have never been to WDW and you're there for a short amount of time, this is valuable. I mean, $50 a person pays for a character meal.

However, I think this shows that they're expecting attendance to be soft through Q1 and Q2 so they're trying to drive it up - ticket specials like this to the general public are still few and far between.

As I posted above I think its more to get people to go to DHS and to a smaller extent AK. They maybe seeing a rise in MK attendance and a drop in DHS.

Oh I see! I was taking this line "This ticket may not be used to enter the same park more than once" very literally. It definitely makes more sense financially if you can leave and return to the same park in the same day. Thanks!

I think they dropped the FL Resident 4-day ticket price - I bought it last year and I'm sure I paid about $219 for it. It's $179 now, $190 with tax. The main difference I see from this ticket is that there is no restriction on which parks you visit for FL resident. This drop in price might get me in to the parks early next year.

Ah, right. You're correct about that there is no restriction on the parks. I forgot about that important element.

This is accepting the reality of Disney being the one big park + the 3 lesser parks...at least for another few years. They are pricing it probably as $129 for MK and $50 for each other park. This is how the pricing should have been for the last few years...

I disagree, I don't think that is their thinking at all. This is Disney giving people another option because attendance overall is down. They are trying to attract people. They are also releasing this the same day Universal revealed a similar ticket option for 3 parks (Volcano Bay opens in 2017).

And why is attendance down? B/c other than MK, none of the other 3 parks are a draw on their own. Disney jacked prices up year over year assuming they were. This is now a total reversal on their part.

This pricing scheme makes the 3 lesser parks a draw. It may or may not be enough b/c Universal will now have 3 parks that are all draws on their own at the same price. It's as close to Disney admitting they overpriced their tickets that you're likely to see...

Attendance is down across the board, Disneyland too. Its not just the 3 "lesser" WDW parks. Disney vacations are expensive and with cuts and changes at all 6 domestic parks people are taking notice.

I don't know why the other parks aren't a draw either. Disney is doing things to draw people in.
Disney Springs- New holiday entertainment and drone show
DHS- New nighttime show
AK- Nighttime activities
Epcot- Food and wine and then Holiday food booths

MK lost a night parade, and an attraction.

Of course Disney is overpriced but they aren't going to flat out admit it. Why do you think they are offering discounts on packages, and gave AP's "45th anniversary" specials?

This is not a matter of lesser parks, this is a matter of an overall problem with ALL the parks.

Personally I wouldn't buy the tickets because of the restrictions. I don't think the money saved worth it. I don't think the average person can spend all day at either HS or AK making those two days of tickets a waste since you can't hop and have to go.

I'm disappointed that there aren't single day tickets to Volcano Bay since I was thinking of adding it on to my Disney trip. But it seems like they might be treating it like a 3rd park pricing wise and I don't think I'd pay theme park price for a water park. I'll wait for reviews I could change my mind.

Personally I find AK to be a full day park and has plenty to do.

Universal has been marketing Volcano Bay as a third park since they announced it.

It's not an option I have any interest in, but I can't recall the last time I spent a full day in one park aside from travel days. And yeah, a full day at HS right now would be mostly wasted.
