New Swap idea

Normal swap group signups may look like:

Animal Kingdom
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.

A swapper signing up says, "I want a spot in Animal Kingdom, and I will do Kilamanjaro Safaris."

This group signups would be

Party of 3, (and you, since you are Po3 would pick the topics *YOU* want.)
1. Christmas
2. Sizzix Queen
3. Contemporary Resort
4. Blue
5. wrestling
6. boys and their toys

Then say, AWM would say, I want to be in the "Po3 group and I will do Sizzix Queen."

so now awm makes 6 sizzix queen pieces. right? and i make 6 christmas, and the other 4 people make 6 of the remaining spots right? so why would people want what's in my group?? and if awm signs up for my group do i sign up for her group? and the other 4 peoples group?

I'm guessing people won't pick as obscure of things, as we are throwing around in this thread (although I suspect some will). That they would be a more normal distribution of topics, but mixed up a bit more than normal. Someone might have too much stuff to participate in say rlovew's AK swap, but they do need one or two AK pieces. And like Mischief_Managed mentioned wanting a few Epcot pieces but not an entire set of countries like you would normally get in an Epcot swap.

So a group might look more like:

Finding Nemo musical
Morocco
Astro Orbiter
Donald Duck
Toy Story Mania
Disney's Hollywood Studios

In what other swap are you going to get a distribution like that?

or Mazda mentioned not needing US holidays, and we know she loves her color swaps. So she might have

Easter
Christmas
Red
Green
general boy
general travel

You could sign up for the groups of the people who signed up for your topics, if those topics are useful for you. But you don't have to. Maybe their group is girly stuff, while your's is gender neutral.

I just know for myself, there are things I need, but not so many things that I need that I should be participating in another Epcot swap, and I don't want to miss out on swapping with everyone because it is so much fun. So I was trying to figure out how to increase the odds of getting something needed. And I thought it would also help newer swappers to get a little bit of everything in one swap, instead of really wanting AK stuff, but we just did that swap last month.

I think this is a great idea. I know I need bits and pieces for the different parks and characters and other WDW activites and this would work great for that. Thanks for thinking of this Hope and offering to hostess!!!!!

Sign ups may be more difficult, but the swapping should be about the same as they are just swapped amongst a group.
I totally see how it could be an ego buster though, like Mischief said, if one picks too obscure of items that nobody else wants. Better work on my list in my head for a while.

I was thinking of telling people in the signups to have a small list of alternate topics. You can submit what you want most originally, but if after a couple of days, you aren't getting many hits, we could update the list to include some other topics. I figure people are going to have a hard enough time keeping the list to 6 topics anyway.

There are so many of you that are East coasters, if you will, that if I play I could have a Disneyland group instead of WDW? There just doesnt seem to be as many west coasters. I love WDW too but thats an every 4 years trip compared to DL at 2or 3 times a year.
Im having problems wrapping my mind around it too, but Im sure someone will hold my hand, right?
So, since its for next year, I'm in!
Now, how to limit DL to 6 topics?

I've been sussed! I had my colour swap stuff out last night and did two pages I've been doing my world travel album (from when I went all over with work) and I'm down to the last trip now - then I can get back to the regular stuff and the Disney album The pics are starting to pile up and as for the swap stuff

Ooooh, we should do a school swap. There are so many topics we could do. I'd hostess if y'all are interested. I've been wanting to hostess, but couldn't think up anything!!! What do you think?
